chapter six : hope

classes had already ended, though you and bang chan were still at school. " hey chan? " you asked out of nowhere while the two of you got your stuff out of your lockers. chan just let out a hum for you to know that he was listening.

" i.n has telekinesis, so what's your power? " you finally asked. let's ignore the fact that you had wanted to ask him so many times during the school day but you never had the chance to.

the said boy looked over at you and then around the hall to see if anyone were to overhear. only then did he start talking. " i guess i can explode stuff ...? the thing is i haven't used my powers in so long, so i'm not really sure if they're even still there. " chan looked hesitant as he spoke those words.

" if you don't want to talk about it i understand ! " you reassure him, but he just shakes his head. " it's fine i can at least try it out. "

chan closes the locker and makes eye contact with an empty, stray can of soda on the hall's floor that was a decent amount of space between the two. are you thinking what bang chan's thinking?

the male lifts his hand, his fingers outstretched towards the soda can. he let his head take over as he thought of the can scrunching up. taking a slow breath he suddenly clenches his fist.

the can, instead of scrunching up, burst into multiple pieces flying in every direction with a loud ' bang ' .

blood everywhere ...

a scene flashed into his mind, it almost felt like a memory. though it dissapeared as soon as it came. white and red ... however it left chan unsettled. he doesn't want to remember those days ...

" hey chan, you good there? " you brought him back from his thoughts. " you annihilated that soda can ... "

" that was amazing ! " chan was a bit surprised by your reaction. as he turned around to face you he didn't notice the stream of blood flowing from his nose.

" chan your nose is bleeding ! " the male instinctively reaches his hand up to his nose and wipes under it with his fingers. now with bloodstained fingers he wiped the remaining blood onto his sleeve.

once he pulled away from his now blood covered sleeve, you reach over to wipe a remainder of blood above his lip. bang chan froze up and didn't move a muscle almost like if he did you would stop.

" there. " you retracted your hand from his face. " please don't do that again, if you do i'm afraid you'll get seriously hurt. "

chan gives you a small smile and keeps his gaze on the floor.

he could always rely on you, because you would always be with him no matter what.

" now c'mon let's go to my house and check on i.n, yeah? " you stretch out your hand for chan to take. without hesitation he intertwines your fingers together and nods.

" of course. "

[ i.n's pov ]

i.n was lounging around the basement where you and bang chan had left him. he hadn't moved that much from his spot in the makeshift fort you had made for him. a couple of hours had passed and you weren't back.

the albino haired male had started to get worried and a bit scared. scared that you may have abandoned him, but you didn't seem like the type to do that to him. you did treat his wounds and all.

all this thinking made i.n stressed and he started overthinking too much to the point where tears started to run down his cheeks. he tried his best to choke down his sobs from making any noise. but that was useless.

his mind wandered back to the laboratory and the cruel experiments that they did on him and minho. was minho safe? is he even alive? questions flew through his mind making him shake with fear.

covering his eyes he finds himself in complete darkness. silence. pulling his palms away from his eyes, he sees darkness everywhere. it was a dark abyss with complete nothingness. where was he?

i.n frantically looks around the dark plain. one thing caught his eye. it was further away and he could hear faint voices echo. it looked like ... two people ...?

the male stands up and approaches the figures cautiously. one of them was lying on the dark abyss's floor and one was pushed up against a corner but with no walls?

now that the boy was closer he could hear the figures' conversation.

" you're one of the numbers too? " an almost familiar voice asked the black haired male in the corner. " i thought everyone had escaped already. " once i.n reached the two he saw his face again. minho. there he was, beaten and injured, but if you looked close enough you could see the wounds slowly disappearing.

the boy started shouting his name to gain his attention but it was like he couldn't even see him.

" i thought so too ... " the male in the corner speaks up. " they separated me from the others because i'm too dangerous, so you should keep your distance. " he had a deep almost soothing voice.

" understood. "

it was silent until he started to speak again.

" were you the one that tried to escape ...? "

minho let out a small cough before answering. " yeah, i didn't escape as you can see, but my accomplice did ... "

" is he a number too? "

" yeah ... " minho trailed off. " i hope he's doing okay ... "

the black haired male just said nothing to that and left the male to think to himself for the moment.

i.n didn't know what to say, do or think. minho was still alive. he could actually save him ...

the boy started to weep tears of happiness and the two males dissapeared into dust. soon enough the darkness faded away to reveal your form shaking him gently.

" i.n wake up! are you okay?! " you yell worriedly as you see him slowly open his eyes. bang chan was right behind you, peeking over your shoulder.

once i.n fully regains his consciousness, he sits straight up and a smile lights up his face. tears still streaming down his face he wraps his arms around you.

" he's alive ... "
