Singhania Mansion, Present Day, October 24th
The Singhania Mansion was decorated in all the colors possible. Why wouldn't it be, it was a happy day for the Singhanias. Their oldest heir, Arsalan Rai Singhania had won the elections. He was officially the new Prime Minister of the country. Arsalan was their pride, his word was now going to be regarded in the same authority as the elders in the house had.
Aadil Rai Singhania, the former Prime Minister and now President felt a surge of pride and excitement at the news. Aadil was also the oldest son of Abbas Rai Singhania, the former President and Prime Minister. Rai Singhania's reign was indeed eternal. For the past 5 generations, the public had chosen them as the rightful leaders.
All the Singhania's were happy, but if there was a happiness beyond limit, it was shown by the ladies in the house. All morning Arsalan had been fed all his favorite dishes by his mother, Inaya, who was also a famous Chef. In fact, she had her own restaurant by the name, "Naya", which was famous worldwide.
"Ammi, enough. I cannot eat anymore. My stomach will burst open", Arsalan complained to his mother, a frown on his face.
Arsalan Rai Singhania, the oldest son of Inaya and Aadil, was blessed in both brains and looks. With deep brown orbs, black hair, an angular nose and a body many women admired, Arsalan was a tough nut to crack. The 29 year old man who whined to his mother for simple things, was a force to reckon with when he was with others. Cold, calculative and hard-headed, he was exactly like his father and grandfather. As the oldest of all his siblings, he always played the role of a third parent, making sure his siblings didn't get into trouble and supporting them when tough times came.
Inaya frowned at him, her honey brown eyes narrowing in displeasure stared at her oldest in disappointment, "You have barely eaten this past week, Arsh. I did not force you because you were busy with the campaign, but now it's over so I will not tolerate my son ignoring his health."
Arsalan was about to deny his mother when her phone rang. Hastily, she picked it up and said, "Yeah. I will be there in 10 minutes. Make sure the garnish is ready. This is a big order". After turning the phone off, she saw that her son was about to leave the dining table. She dragged him back, ignoring all his pleas and ordered, "Finish this in 20 minutes and don't you dare pull any tricks. I will be back in a while and I have told Naina to keep an eye on you."
Inaya Rai Singhania, the oldest daughter-in-law of the Singhanias. Also the most stubborn. When Inaya had become the First Lady, she insisted on becoming a renowned chef and opening her own place. The world criticized her actions, saying they were "wrong" for the First Lady, but she simply ignored them. Today, "Naya" was a global success and so was she. Even today, people looked up at the Former- First Lady. The impression of a woman who was a great mother, daughter-in-law, wife and yet such a powerful personality of her own, was commendable.
With almond shaped honey eyes, a heart shaped face and straight light brown hair, Inaya, at 49 years, could give models a run for their money.
Arsalan shook his head as he saw his mother walk away. Silently, he ate the dish and went to put it in the sink, when he was stopped by his Choti Maa. She stood in front of him and peered at the dish, crossing her arms over each other. Arsalan resisted the urge to laugh seeing this. Usually the stance would be intimidating, but Naina's height made it funny.
