___

Send the code, he's waiting there

The sticks and stones they throw froze mid-air

Everyone wants him

That was my crime

The wrong place at the right time

___

Elaina walks up to the porch where Rick sits in a rocking chair.

"Hey." She says, leaning against the railing.

"Hey." He says back.

She takes a deep breath. "Listen... I wasn't supposed to say anything but... Carl was out in the swamps yesterday. He came across a walker stuck in the mud. He got scared and ran off."

Rick stands slowly, as he thinks. "This the same walker that killed Dale?"

She nods.

He sighs as he rubs his eye bags. "I'll talk to him. I don't know what's gotten into him lately."

Elaina shifts her weight onto her other foot as she gently crosses her arms in front of her chest. "That's not all. He had Daryl's gun. Took it from his bike."

Ricks eyes widen as she continues. "I gave it back to Daryl but... and I don't mean to intrude on your family, he might need to start carrying. Things are just gonna keep getting worse around here. Better to be safe than sorry."

Rick nods. "Thank you, Elaina." He takes a step closer to her. "And don't ever think you're intruding. You are part of this family now." He clears his throat. "You all are."

___

Later, T-Dog, Daryl, and Elaina all go to the barn to get Randall.

They finally decided to send him away for good, sparing his life. She just wishes Dale could've been here for it.

T-Dog snaps the lock off the barn. "Yo, Randy. Governor called; you're off the hook." He opens the door and steps inside. Suddenly, he shouts. "Oh, hell no!"

He exits the barn with a panicked expression.

"What's wrong?"  Elaina asks glancing at Daryl who is just as lost.

"Randall's gone."

She peeks inside and curses. "Shit!"

She runs as fast as she can back to the house, calling for the others. Rick is first out. He runs up to her and grabs her by the shoulders.

"What happened?" He asks her quickly as he scans her eyes.

"Randall is missing."

Before long, everyone is back down by the barn.

"How long has he been gone?" Andrea asks.

"Hard to say." T-Dog says scratching his still recovering arm from when he cut it back on the highway.

Daryl comes out of the barn. "Cuffs are still hooked. He must've slipped 'em."

"Is that possible?" Carol asks.

Glenn sighs. "It is if you've got nothing left to lose."

Elaina shakes her head, her curls bouncing as she speaks. "It doesn't make sense. The doors were locked from the outside. He couldn't have gotten out."
