TW: Cheating
Do you really wanna know where I was on August 6th?
The funny thing about the apocalypse is the fact that the scariest thing isn't getting infected, no they don't even come close. To him, the scariest thing about the desolate world now was the repetitive knock on your bedroom door once all the lights had ceased. Once all the bottles were kept aside and the confettis laying around the floor pushed against one wall.
And once he opened the door, it was her. And right there and then, he immediately felt the tension, the fleeting intimacy.
It was a ball of dread that formed every time he saw her with him. It was the ability to remember the soft brush of her lips but forget the fact that every time she left, she went home to her fiance.
"This isn't right, Ris." he cautioned, taking a small gulp as she inched closer to his lips. She had a fiance, there was no way she was thinking clearly. She loved him, right? There was no denying his heart was racing, no matter how much he knew she'd regret it- regret him, all he saw was the way she stared at his trembling lips. "You're with Jay."
Ris paused momentarily, almost as if she was debating it before she moved her eyes into his. "I want to kiss you and I know I shouldn't." She whispered, voice quiet as she pushed her previous activities with Jay to the back of her mind. For some reason, the girl he'd known his whole life felt a whole lot like home. "He doesn't make me feel like this, Ton."
She was everything he'd wanted, for as long as he could remember it had always been her. "Ris..." he hummed, taking in a shaky breath as he followed her eyes, attempting to read her thoughts.
"Ton... just kiss me." He stared at her for a few more seconds and then he kissed her— all thoughts, restraints, and hesitations leaving the room.
"Where is he?" He asked again.
"He left early."
"He's not picking you up?"
"If he was, would I be kissing you like this?"
A familiar dance, familiar movements, familiar body, familiar face. It was all so familiar.
"Did you just arrive?" Her fiance asked.
"Obvious naman siguro." She said dryly and took off her shoes as she made her way to the bathroom.
"Ris, mag-usap nga tayo." He said. "Ba't ngayon ka lang?"
No Answer.
"Risa." He held her arms and made her look at him. She never did though. She looked down. "Ba't ngayon ka lang?"
"Do you really wanna know?" Risa answered, trying to hold back tears as she fidgeted on her engagement ring. "Do you really wanna know what I was doing with Tonio? Do you want to know how much he made me feel alive? Do you want to know that I do not regret anything that happened last night and how thankful I am that you left me there?"
"Tell me Jay, do you really want to know?" She looked up at him, her ring now out of her finger and gave it to him.
