Chapter 1 - First Dream

St. Freya Academy, the prestigious training academy for the future Valkyrie's of the world. Here they are trained to fight against the threat of the Honkai, beings made of Honkai energy who are trying to eradicate mankind. Ironically, the weapons they use to fight the Honkai utilise the same energy due to its versatility despite its risks.

Among the population females are the ones who have the higher Honkai resistance. It isn't know why females have higher adaptability but due to this the current society became a bit of a matriarchy due to the increase in importance of women over men. They would fight the Honkai while the men would command them.

It also caused the females to have a superiority complex, as they viewed themselves as superior to men because they are stronger than them and due to their Honkai adaptability they are much more precious than men. Which was the reason why St. Freya Academy, though it is for training students for both genders became like an all girls school due to the low availability of men with abilities to fight the Honkai.

"Look it's him." A Valkyrie in training whispered to her friend.

"Yeah, I wonder what he did to have such a smile on his face." Her friend whispered back.

Of course, that is why his presence in the academy is all the more special. This boy is the one of the very very few males in the world who have a good Honkai adaptability which allowed him to he admitted into the academy. Of course, being the only male in the academy has its fair share of problems.

For example, due to the superiority complex that have been developed due to the now changed matriarchal society he is looked down upon by the female population and shunned as well. Though he didn't much care about it.

"Hmm, what a nice weather it is today." The boy said happily with a smile.

He has short black hair, grey eyes and fair skin with an androgynous face and is of a normal height. He is dressed in the school uniform as he is walking with a smile on his face. (A/N: Basically the Nameless Bard.)

This is Venti, the only male in the whole of St. Freya Academy. The new male with the ability to fight Honkai after the previous one Siegfried Kaslana disappeared. In the eyes of Schicksal he is a great asset but to the girls of St. Freya, not so much.

However, Venti wasn't one to care much about what they thought of him so he would go along with his life however he wants. In short, he is a free spirit who likes to live in his own pace and is damn good at it as even the teachers can't make him do what he doesn't want to.

He also always has a smile and cheerful attitude and has never been serious which kind of irked the girls. To them St. Freya Academy is a sacred place where great Valkyrie's studied and became protectors of humanity. The girls look up to S rank Valkyrie's like Durandal and Rita and are basically celebrities to the girls.

It should also be noted that the girls there seem to lean more towards their fellow girls than boys as they idolize the S rank Valkyrie's and act lovestruck when they talk about them.

So when Venti came, they first didn't like it as he is a male but then he always lived with a joking attitude and cheerful smile and was never serious during their lessons. He would always joke around and act like nothing is wrong which grated at the nerves of the girls.

This is an institution in which many of them have come to learn to fight the Honkai and where many of their idols had gotten their education. So when they see the nonchalant and joking manner of Venti it causes them to be angry at him which further increases their hate for him. Fortunately, Venti doesn't realise it or doesn't care as he goes with his carefree life.

"Venti, could I please have your attention here?" The teacher said with twitching eyebrows.

"Yes, what is it?" Venti asked with a smile.
