Aria and Michael ran through the cold hallways, making sure they ran lightly so not the make loud sounds that would echoe down the hall. The fear of running into the homicidal doll ran along with them, reapeating in their head over, and over, and over. Aria glanced over at Michael , breathing heavily. Waiting for some sign of idea where to head, "basement?" She whispered out, a breathy word as she struggled to keep up with the her legs. She was almost positive that they would become to fast for her, or she went too fast for them, and she would while out soon.
Michael nodded over to the girl, his lilac hair is faded now, his blonde roots bounced as he ran. His fear keeping him going as he sprinted side by side with Aria. "Down... This hall.." He choked, his voice deep and raspy and hushed.
The girl nodded as they took a turn down the hall Michael was referring to. Michael began to go over the good times they had. Well, good for him. how she hated him at first. how she called him nasty. How they played that song together.how he found out that she really wasn't insane, and that a doll really was ruining her life.
The two ran down the hall, at the very end there was a large metal door. they slowed their pace to a stop and looked at each other. Aria took a breath in, it hitching in the back of her throat. she reached out, her hand touching the doors handle. It was freezing to the touch, sending shivers down her body. She gave it a hard tug and pulled it open with a loud creak, making the two of them cringe. Michael and aria stopped to look around, they didn't move an inch; Or breath for about a minute when hey decided it was safe enough to go ahead.
They emerged down down the sketchy stairs that moaned as your foot came into contact with it. The whole place was pitch black, their eyes strained in the darkness; trying to make sense of the area. From what they could tell, the basement had some missing tiles, unused beds, cells that where shut, and other things that they weren't completely sure what they where.
"What's that?" Michael asked, walking into the darkness. Aria's eye widened greatly, running towards his direction. Her hands connecting with the back of him.
"Don't just disappear." She snapped, following behind him.
The duo walked up to a box attached on the wall. A grin spreading across their faces as they saw the metal case. "This is it." Michael smiled, opening the door. Inside was a lever, and some buttons. "Normally they pull the lever, right?"
Aria shrugged, "how would I know? Do I look like a technician to you?"
"You don't look like anything, it's too dark."
"Don't be a smart ass."
"Don't be rude."
"I'm not being rude!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Am-"
The sound of nails against a chalk board roared through the areas they where in. The argument completely ended and their heads snapped towards the cells against the wall opposite of them. Staring at the door they thought it came from, silently looking with their eyes the size of golfballs. Lumps formed in each of their throats as they began to expect the worst.
In panic, Michael turned around to grab the lever. His small fingers wrapped around the cold, metal handle. Using his muscle he tugged down, the sound of it creaking echoed as if it hadn't been opened in hundreds of years. Soon the sound faded, and another croaked through the basement. All the cells in the basement where opening.
Michael looked over at Aria, still facing the metal box with the lever, she was standing terrified. Aria watched as the cell door that the nail scratched sounded from, out of the darkness a figure formed. Approaching the duo in silence.
