Chapter summary:

Ranpo's lies are honest.
An honest lie he likes to call it.
———

Ranpo was reading the books the high schoolers here are supposed to take. And for a prestigious school, these subjects are far too easy.

But that just may be him.

He lets the other students do whatever they want, as long as they don't cause too much noise.

And the topic of all of their conversations was, none other than little poor him.

And for quiet, they were not quiet whatsoever. He could almost hear all that they said about him.

"The substitute is a bit weird don't you think?" A girl with a pinkish skin tone had whispered as her friends agreed.

"I know, right, what made the principal pick him in the first place?" Because he's smarter than even the principal himself, if the chess battles they had said anything about that.

"He's not even a pro hero! He's just a detective!" One shouted— quietly shouted. Yes, definitely quiet, he definitely didn't hear that. Not a single peep.

Everyone around the guy had shushed them, afraid that he was going to hear. Oh what they didn't know.

He had to suppress a laugh at their stupidity and pretend he didn't hear anything at all. "So what if he hears? He's just a lame extra, there's nothing special about him."

Bakugou had snarled, not even bothering to hide anything. Not special? Ranpo was by far the most unique one in this entire room.

This boy had gotten a bit too much expectations on him. He would make a good hero, but he needs to change that demanding attitude.

"Bakugou, it's not manly to insult people for their occupation!" The redhead reasoned, to no avail, even as the rest had concurred with him.

Bakugou only scoffed at their words, the detective can feel the boy's eyes looking down on him.

What a bother, he strikes his glare with his own, his different colored eyes piercing at him. Making the other boy offended.

But before anyone could see what had made Bakugou feel offended just by looking at Ranpo, he had already turned his head back to the English book he had in hand.

The book lacked important details, and the words were too easy. He looks back at the novels Poe always wrote him, these really have improved his English.

He closed the book, too bored to get up and do something. He hated this, one would ask him where he was from and he'd tell them he was from Yokohama, and then everything would go down from there.
