"So what should I do first?" Thomas said, clapping his hands. Now that no one could say no, Thomas was prepared to ruin someone's life. "So Aaron." Thomas said. "How's that dear Theodosia of yours." Aaron's face turned pale. "She's fine." Aaron mumbled. "Wait! What should I do?" Alexander asked, saving Aaron. "Hmm, you should date Eliza Schuyler!" Thomas replied. Alexander's face dropped. "Eliza Schuyler, the quietest girl in school?" Alexander said. "You know it!" Thomas smiled. "The one who we poured paint on her and her friends?" John asked. "Of course!" Thomas laughed.

"Tommy, I don't think this is a good idea." James said from behind him. Thomas gave him a look to tell him to shut up. Alexander went towards the door that Eliza and her friends had left through. Thomas followed behind him beckoning everyone to follow after him.

"What do you want, Alexander?" Angelica hissed. "Can I talk to Eliza?" He said, somewhat confident. Angelica was about to hiss a 'no' when Peggy jumped in and said "Of course!" Eliza's face dropped. Alexander offered a hand to Eliza. "You can't say no." Peggy whispered to Eliza. Eliza nodded in understanding before taking his hand.

"So, Lizzy." Alexander started. "You can't ca-" Eliza said before remembering the dare. "I mean go ahead." Eliza mumbled. "It's fine I can call you something else! Uh! Liz, Liza, Li, or I can just call you Eliza." Alexander said, clearly nervous. "Can I call you Alex then?" Eliza asked quietly. "As long as I can call you Liza." Alexander answered.

Eliza and Alexander were clearly opposites. Eliza was quiet and shy. Alexander was loud and confident. Thomas was a crazy for putting them together. Eliza was full of smiles. Alexander was full of anger, constantly bubbling up to the surface.

Eliza nodded at Alexander, a small smile on her face. "Liza?" Alexander asked. Eliza hummed in response. "Has anyone told you, you're beautiful?" Alexander said, clearly flirting."Well yes, they have." Eliza said. "Are you sure it's not that you can't say no?" Alexander asked. "No, tons of people call me beautiful." Eliza huffed. "You said no!" Alexander smirked. "Don't you dare tell Peggy." Eliza glared daggers at him. "I won't Liza." Alexander said. "Good." Eliza's tone went back and to a whisper. "Why are you so quiet?" He asked. Eliza just hummed in response, not wanting to answer. "I'll tell you my story if you tell me yours." He said.

"I was 12 when my mother died. She was holding me. We were sick and she was holding me, I couldn't seem to die." Tears formed in Alexander's eyes. "When I was 17, a hurricane destroyed my town. I didn't drown! I couldn't seem to die. I wrote my way out! Wrote everything down as far as I could see! I wrote my way out! I looked up and the town had its eyes on me! They passed a plate around. Total strangers. Moved to kindness by my story." Eliza remembered reading his story in the paper. "Raised enough for me to book passage on a ship that was New York bound."

Eliza was hugging Alexander by the end. "I'm so sorry." Eliza said, also crying. "I guess it's my turn." Eliza said. She took a deep breath as Alexander wiped her cheeks. "My whole childhood, my mother was very strict and my father was away in the military. I have 6 younger siblings. Angelica was the oldest and me the second oldest. We end up taking care of them a lot. My mother actually had 15 children, but um" Eliza wiped an incoming tear. "7 of them didn't make it through childbirth." Eliza burst out crying. "My mother was close to death multiple times!" Eliza's tears rolled down her cheeks, fast yet quiet.

The two hugged each other to help take their pain away. "I'm sorry Alex." Eliza said. "I'm sorry for you Liza." Alex said. Eliza looked at this guy she barely knew. Was she falling for him so quickly?

Wow, I didn't expect to write 672 words! Anyway, I hope y'all are enjoying this as much as me!
