One month from the wedding

Emmy, Mrs. Harries, Linda, Baby Angelina, and I went for the fitting for my wedding dress. I was looking at this one online, but I’m seeing it in real life for the first time today.

Linda gave birth to baby Angelina almost a year ago. She’s very cute, but cried an awful lot. Angelina is my niece and I love her, but I wasn’t exactly thrilled that I had to put up with a screaming child while experiencing the joys of being a bride.

The lady at the front desk handed me the dress, and I headed into the dressing room. I slipped the dress on, letting the silk material of the inside of it glide across my body. It was a lacey dress, with an off-white color. I absolutely adored it.

When I stepped outside of the dressing room, I saw everyone’s faces light up.

Emmy jumped out of her seat and exclaimed, “OH MY GOD I LOVE IT!”

Mrs. Harries covered her mouth, “We musn’t wake the baby.” We all glanced at Angelina sleeping. She looked up at me, “You do look beautiful in it.”

I looked to Linda, she said, “You’re the most gorgeous bride I’ve ever seen!”

“Thank you ladies!” I said.

My tailor came over to me, and began to fit the dress to my body.

After what felt like forever, my fitting was over. I didn’t think I could stand for another second longer.

When we arrived home, it was 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Emmy and I decided to take a walk around the property together.

“So, how’s school Em?” I asked her.

“Yeah, let’s skip the small talk Lyss.” She chimed.

I laughed, “Okay.”

We walked over to the gazebo and took a seat inside.

“Anyway, there’s this boy in my school—-“

I interrupted her, with my hand over my heart, “Do you like him?!”

She widened her eyes, “Yes, but jeez what’s with the dramatic reaction?”

I smiled, “I don’t know. It reminds me of when I was younger, with little crushes on guys. It’s weird to think that I’m actually engaged and getting married in a month.”

“Yeah, I guess I could understand that.” She replied.

“Do you know if he likes you?” I asked her.

“I’m not sure yet. I’ve asked my friend to ask him.” She said.

Oh boy, I remember those little games…

“What does he look like?” I asked.

I saw her face light up, “He has blond hair and blue eyes.”

We saw Finn walking over to us, “Do I hear that Emmy likes blond boys?”

“Shut up, Finn!!” Emmy said, angrily crossing her arms.

“I was just wondering which ones I have to look out for,” Finn said, teasing Emily.

“You’re so annoying!” Emily said as she stomped out of the gazebo.

Finn took her spot and asked, “How did the fitting go?”

“It was good, thanks for asking.”

He put his hand on my knee, “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

I started to feel really uncomfortable, his movement brang me back to the memory of the last time he touched me— like that.

“Okay,” I said, removing his hand from my knee.

He moved closer, “I don’t think I’m okay with the fact that you and Jack are getting married,”

“Why is that?” I inched further away.

He gently grabbed my face, “Simply because I’ve fallen in love with you,”

I stood up and began to exit the gazebo, “No, Finn. No”

He tried to protest, but I interrupted him.

“You can’t feel that way, and you’re never going to bring this up again!” I said as I stormed towards the house.
