Light continued walking some more, feeling his stomach hurting worse and had to sit down as he needed to stop and rest it off. He limped his way to a park and sat in a bench, laying down there and was breathing heavily, resting his hand in his lower stomach, blinking his eyes as the pain kept getting more agonizing itself. He checked his watch and saw that it was 5 pm, only two hours since he left the house and he breathed some more. Light went on his phone, flipping it open.

Mom: 9 missed calls

Sayu: 5 missed text messages

Dad: 8 missed calls, 12 missed text messages

Light felt his eyes closing on him, feeling himself about to pass out. He fell from the bench, landing unconscious. He woke up in a hospital, laying in a bed and woke up with a bandage on his forehead, feeling it. A doctor saw him and told him that he has to leave it alone as he could've gotten worse. He told the 17 year old that he will be discharged when his parents arrive, which will be in a few minutes. Sometime later that night, Light didn't say anything during dinner again. He just stayed quiet as usual. Sayu finished her dinner and was told to go to her room. Sachiko went to clean the dishes in peace.

"Light, can you explain yourself?" Soichiro said, clearly disappointed in him. He wasn't angry, but he was disappointed and worried about him for walking out of the house for longer than three hours. Light refused to answer him for the same reason why. "Answer me, young man! Why did you leave the house and left your mother and sister in tears and hysterics?" Soichiro asked again, clearly angry now.

"I don't know..." He quietly said, clearly not in the mood to tell him or explain as such. He started breathing, holding his stomach hard and coughed, feeling it hurting some more.

"Whatever reason it is, you are grounded for a day. And with that being said, you'll do your schoolwork." The older Yagami told him and he nodded, going upstairs as he was told. Soichiro knew punishing Light wasn't something he's proud of, but wanted to do so as he couldn't let him do this. It's been a day since Light met L and they haven't spoken to each other again since then. Just then, the door knocked and Soichiro forgot L was supposed to be here. He answered the door and let him inside.

"Chief Yagami, it's a pleasure to see you again. Sorry about me being late. Traffic happened and I was hoping Watari would take a detour." He said, laughing nervously.

"I see. Are you hungry?"

"Sure."

"Alright then. I'll ask my wife to make you whatever you want and you can eat it."

"Thank you very much, Chief Yagami. You're the best."

L went to see Light and found him in his room, doing his homework as he finished his assignments. He fell asleep afterwards and slept in his desk, exhausted already. L saw him and lifted him to his bed, which made Light scream uncontrollably, feeling his stomach in pain again. He grimaced at it, his hand laying on it and L calmly assured him it'll be alright. Light breathed heavily, squinting his eyes as the agony was like a burning feeling. He screamed again as he felt something snap.

"Ow..." He grimaced once more, clearly feeling whatever it is to be hurting a lot. L knew he had to check his lower stomach and he did so. One of the stitches ripped off and he immediately rushed to find the first aid kit. He went to the bathroom and saw where it was and grabbed it, going back to Light's room. "Light, it's going to be okay. I'm right here." He shushed him, letting him know it's all going to be fine in the end.

L went to work on Light, sewing the stitches back together as he definitely has experience in this kind of thing as well as first aid in general. As a detective in general, he self taught himself at the same age he started being a detective, how to use first aid so if someone were to get injured, he would've helped them. Despite not showing his real identity, he still did so. He was and still is, pretty good at first aid, knowing he really knows easy it is for him to do so. The door knocked and he opened the door for a bit, then opened it better.

"L, your dinner has arrived." Soichiro told him and the dark haired 17 year old smiled, knowing how much he loves sugary foods but when he's eating out, which doesn't happen often, he eats other foods like chicken with rice and some vegetables, as well as salmon.

"Great. I'll just be out in a second. I'm almost done with my job. Tell your wife to cover the plate so the food stays warm and fresh." He told the older Yagami this and he nodded, going downstairs. L went back to work on Light and was done 4 minutes later. "Light, go to sleep. Alright? I'll check up on you after my dinner." He told him and he nodded weakly. L went downstairs and made it to the dining room, starting to eat.

"So, L. I heard you're the world's greatest detective. That must be rewarding and exhausting at the same time." Sachiko said to him, sitting down as well as Soichiro.

"Yes. Originally, I started solving cases when I was 9, but became a full on detective at 13 and got awarded for my real cases all over the world." He smiled, really enjoying this meal. He was getting better at chopsticks than he was previously.

"That's impressive. Your parents must be proud of you." She smiled. L smiled a bit, trying to not cry over his deceased parents as he didn't want anyone to know why they died.

"Um, Sachiko. Can we talk about something else. Like how L is very intelligent in Light's level?" Soichiro interrupted, knowing how uncomfortable the dark haired 17 year old is right now.

"Oh, right. You know something, L? Light is very smart, but you are in his level of intelligence. That's something I never thought I'd see." Sachiko gushed, knowing her son is perfect in everything he's done. Even for continuing school, despite his health in the way.

"Yeah." L responded, unsure what this has to do with the conversation. After dinner, he was offered the meal as his breakfast and he accepted it. L pulled out his phone and started calling Watari to pick him up. He thanked Sachiko for making his dinner and for Soichiro for letting him stay for this night.

"L, you're more than welcome to come back anytime." Sachiko said as she hugged him.

"Thanks, I will take that offer." He smiled, heading out to Light's room as he nearly forgot about him and went to see him. He found the younger Yagami sleeping and smiled. "Goodnight, Light. Thanks for being a good friend. I love you." He whispered and hugged him with a smile on his face.
