Wouldn’t you like someone who will listen to you and teach you what is right? Many young people today do not have a parent to sit down and listen to them. There are not many good role models today and crime is an after-effect of this.
Most of the times, young people do wrong things just to get attention. It is because of the need to know right from wrong. However, adults are usually caught up in their responsibilities and jobs and forget the children. This is disadvantageous the children as they have no idea on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Some adults believe that because they are older, they are always right and children must do what they say without question. This is very prejudicial to children as it is their instinct to be curious. I think that there are some children who are smarter than adults.
Because of technology, young ones retain and understand a wider range of facts and can analyze and correct situations that seem impossible to some. On the other hand, not many adults would take the advice of a child, even if today’s younger generation mentally mature at a high rate because it would seem demeaning to them.
Accepting responsibility also teaches young people important life skills and it is known that humans learn through mistakes. Nonetheless, adults generally do not place their trust in young people and do not give them certain responsibilities that they should get. How will the younger generation survive if the adults do not believe in them?
I think that there would be a great reduction in crime if adults took the time to understand the younger generation and work together with them instead of expecting them to follow their rules without having a say. It is very detrimental to be young as prejudice is present between the age groups and the favor goes to the older generation.
