Part 3

Six months... six months since I walked away from Jake. I only went back to get the rest of my stuff. I found an apartment which was perfect for just me.

Thankfully noone from the group picked sides when we ended things. I swear they still think we will get back together but I can't say we will. I do miss him a ton, everything about him honestly. I've tried dating but nothing more than two or three dates and then I end it.

Hannah and Thomas are having a baby and today is the gender reveal party at the Aurora. After asking Hannah a million questions I'm pretty certain it's a girl so I grab my short fit and flair dress that's a soft mauve pink. It's a little chilly this fall afternoon so I threw on my boots and a leather jacket.

Jessy and Dan pick me up because honestly knowing Jake will be there I would chicken out. Especially because I know he's been seeing someone because of Lilly. She tells me it's nothing serious but she's meeting the whole gang tonight, me included and my heart breaks.

There's a knock on the door and it's Jessy. Dan is waiting in the car, so I grab my purse and present and we head over there.

The parking lot is pretty much full with everyone there and I see Jake and his new girl walking in. Dan sees my mood get worse and has Jessy go in. We stand outside for a moment while I catch my breath.

"Dan, how am I going to handle this? She's gorgeous," I feel the tears forming but I have to stop them.

"Hey it's his loss. Honestly we're all hoping she's just a space filler for now. Also I didn't tell you this but he's asked about you to everyone."

I look at him, "really?" I ask uncertain if I still want to face him.

"Plus your way prettier than her and a better fit for the gang" he says with a chuckle.

"Dan, you don't even know her!" I laugh as he hugs me.

"Nah but no one will be a better fit then you for that hackerman."

"Thanks Dan" I say with a smile as we walk inside.

I put my gift down and go up to Hannah and Thomas and I give them both hugs.

"Hey before you get much further we need to ask you something?" Says Hannah holding my hand.

"Anything you know I'm always here" I say with a smile.

"That's exactly why you want to ask you this. You've been there for us since you became just a random number and we would love for you to be this baby's godmother" she says with a smile.

"Of course '' I exclaim. "Now let's find out the gender so I can spoil them" I say with a laugh.

"Later we will find out, don't worry" she says.

I see Thomas is hiding something, "who is the godfather?" I ask unsure if I want the answer.

"I am why?" I hear Jake walk up and his new girl is attached to him.

"I guess you and me are always going to be apart of each other lives then" I say as my smile fades away.

"Hi, I'm Ava" says the girl as she puts her hand out.

"Hi, I'm MC" I say as I walk past them.

"What's her problem?" She asks.

"Let me go find out" I hear Jake.

I'm sitting at the bar with a whiskey neat and I see someone sit down. I expect Thomas until I turn to say something and see him. I can't even think of anything to say so I just take a drink.

"Really MC? You can't be nice to her?" He asks.

I sigh "what I said Hi, I'm MC. I'm sorry but that's as nice as you're gonna get from me. If it wasn't for Hannah begging me to come even though you were gonna be here I wouldn't have." I say turning towards him.
