"Maybe it's for the best" An Ashtray story.

Valentinas POV

I looked at the clock, 5 am. I slowly and carefully removed myself from Ashtray's arms and out of the bed, I grabbed my shoes and looked to make sure Ashtray was still sleepinf. 

I grabbed my phone and headphones and quickly exited the house sitting on the sidewalk, I called maddy hoping she would be up.

I heard maddy's groggy voice through the phone and I immeditaly felt releif wash over me. "Hey Val, whats up?" she asked yawning after

"Umm. So. First off, me and Ashtray kissed last night." I stated biting my lip.

"What.? Val, You've known him for a week." She said obviously confused

"No, no. I've known him since I was 5." I said quietly just incase anyone could hear.

"What do you mean. Wait you remember?" Maddie said her voice growing softer

"Mhm" I said smiling

My phone went off and it was Ashtray

"Oh maddy I have to go, I'll see you at school, love you" I said and maddy replied, then I hung up

I got up and walked back inside realizing i never went on my walk and groaned.

"There you are, where the hell did you go? You scared me." Ashtray asked me cupping my face before quickly dropping his hands and gaining a serious expression.

I was confused and furrowed my eyebrows to show that. "Are you oka-"

"Im fine." Ashtray stated blankly sitting on his bed.

I was still confused but left it not wanting to anger him more. "Anyways, guess what?" I asked smiling trying to hide my excitment

Ashtray rolled his eyes and sighed "What?" 

I felt hurt at his response, my smile dropped and I looked away, "Um. Nothing, nevermind." I said sadly chuckling as I sat on the floor and started my makeup

I saw ashtray with a hurt expression in the mirror and frowned. I stood up and walked over to him, climbing over him and sitting next to him on the bed. 

"What's wrong with you?" I asked cupping his face in my hands staring into his eyes, there was so much emotion that craved to be released, and I was determined to let it out.

"Nothing." He said closing his eyes as soon as tears formed in his eyes. My expression sadened as i wrapped my arms around his shoulders pulling him close.

He wrapped his arms around me and I heard him sniffle. 

"I sighed and pulled away. "I have something to tell you." I said softly smiling, "So. Um, I remember something, like important. I don't know if you remember but we used to be best friends." 

I watched his eyes widen as he stared at me not saying anything. I chuckled "Ashy you all good over there?" I asked smiling as he smiled and hugged me.

I hugged him back and we sat there like that for a few minutes before he spoke. "You don't understand. This week has been torture knowing you didn't remember how we used to be. It broke me when you left Val." His eyes looked so sad

I nodded and grabbed his hands. "I know, and I'm so sorry Ashtray, I neever wanted to leave ypu, you were my whole life." I said looking at my lap holding back tears. I felt him let go of my hands and bring them to my face.

"But when I heard you were coming back," He paused. "Was the best thing in my 15 years of living to happen to me besides meeting you." 

I smiled and leaned my forehead against his, "I'm sorry Valentina." He stated with his eyes closed

"For what?" I asked softly keeping my own eyes closed.

"Everything. The way I treated you when you came, I was angry and upset, and i really missed you." he said sniffling softly between a few words.

I pulled my head away and looked into his eyes, I let my eyes drift to his lips, and I think we had the same idea. As we both slowly leaned it, the door flew open causing us both to jump, causing ashtray to fall off the bed, and me to fall into the wall.

"What the hell just-" Fezco started to speak when Ashtray spoke up. 

"Fucking hell Fezco, knocking works to you know" Ashtray spoke angrily rubbing the back of his head, I groaned as i sat up rubbing my own head. Fezco looked between us two and sighed before closing the door. 

I flopped down into the bed pulling the covers over me shutting my eyes, I soon felt ashtray climb next to me, pulling me close to him rubbing my back while resting his chin on my head.

"I'm really glad your home Val." He spoke in a whisper, I could just tell he had a small smile plastered on his face, I scootched away slightly so I could see his face, we stared at each other before I spoke up.

"Me too ashy." I said smiling before I kissed his lips softly as he kissed back, there was passion and emotion. I pulled away smiling and he pulled me into him. I let my fingers rub his head softly with my nails and soon enough I heard soft snores escape from his mouth.

I smiled and closed my eyes, enjoying this while I can.

I missed this place.

I missed these people.

I missed him.
