TOTAL DARKNESS

CHAPTER: 3

The second horn did not shake the ground but shut down all the electricity. Streetlights explode, as well as vehicle bulbs. I looked at the ambulance powered by electricity suddenly stopped moving in the middle of the road. This is similar to other vehicles that were charged with electricity, creating a commotion. It appears that the magnetic force stops them. Regardless of their speed, they will suddenly stop like how they stepped on the brakes, creating a screech. I do not know what is happening, but this is not terrorism because no country, even the richest, can do this. The power interruption was more than a nationwide blackout because the charged vehicles were supposedly unaffected by the blackout, but right now. The battery vehicles suddenly got drained like something was controlling our electricity. I do not know if it is a bug, a glitch, or a virus, but I felt something was not good.

We waited for another earthquake, like a while ago, when the first horn blew, but it did not occur until the loud horn stopped. We looked up at the sky because it turned dark, and we were surprised to see a cone covering the earth and sucking all our electricity. We watched it glow like a cone of fire because it was full of electricity that it sucked from the earth. The earth has turned dark; our only light comes from the cone above.

Robo starts barking again with teeth clenching and simultaneously looks at the cone up there. Our jaws dropped because we were amazed by their beauty. It was like a new dimension there, but I knew something was dangerous and deadly behind that beauty. We did not know what was happening or what was coming, but this was beyond the big one because the thing up there was unexplainable. I looked at the time on my wristwatch because I wanted to document everything starting from when it happened, but my watch's arms stopped moving. I tried to shake my watch, but my arms did not move. Is the cone in the sky why my watch stopped working, or did my watch break in the earthquake a while ago? I do not know, but I sense something is not right.

"What the fuck is going on?" King asked while looking up at the sky. He was amazed by the cone full of our electricity.

"That is not a star, a comet or a planet. What is that thing?" He asked while staring at a cone-like me. King was also mesmerized.

"I don't know," I answered with puzzlement because I was trying to recall all that had happened this day. If I connect them, I may find an answer about what is happening now, but I cannot think of any because everything happened too quickly. I woke up in the hospital a while ago because I got hit by the bus, but miraculously survived without any fracture, and when I got out of the hospital, these weird things suddenly happened. I shook my head. It was just giving me a headache, finding the answer about what was happening aside from my unclear dream. I do not think of anything connected to them.

Our government has nothing to do about this, even though we all know that they were a puppet of M.C.C. because the M.C.C. is the highest of all, which I did not approve of because they controlled the government, but if the happening right now is not M.C.C's. Another science lab project, and if it is nothing to do with the government either. Well, what is this? What is happening, and who is the mastermind?

We heard another horn again, which caused the ground to shake again, but the shake did not last for a minute. We covered our ears because the horn resembled a loud metal screeching. It was louder than the first two and could drive anyone who heard it insane. It also differs from the first two because the horn can cause a human brain to explode. I saw survivors who survived an earthquake but did not survive the third horn because their brains could not take the pressure of the loud horn that caused it to explode. I immediately carry Robo, who keeps on barking and getting crazy. I observed that his ears were already bleeding. I am scared that he might end up like the other. I hugged the poor dog and comforted him, and with King, we jumped into the four deep holes and covered the hole with something that would lessen the loud horn.

"Fuck! This loud horning made my ears bleed and my headache," King said, but I could not hear him well because of the loud horn.

What is fuck going on? I cannot take another loud horn anymore. After this, if there is another horn, it would be my end because my brain is starting to hurt, and it would explode like what happened to others, but I do not want that to happen. I will not die in a gory situation because I need to extort the M.C.C. to be rich.

After minutes of a loud horning, it stopped suddenly. I looked at King, and he looked back at me because we were sensing each other if another horn would come. I heard Robo crying, and I saw tears in his eyes. He has already stressed because of what is happening. King took him from my arms, hugged and kissed him to tell Robo everything was okay. The horn blows over, and there is no further horning.

After minutes of waiting, we left the hole and saw many casualties. The bodies with their blasted heads were everywhere. My knees felt weak while looking around. The horns didn't choose which to kill, which scares me. I looked up at the sky, and the cone was still there, blazing with the energy it took from us. I shook my head because nobody knew that this would happen. In just a day, lots of people died. I can count with my eye, but I don't know the other cities because of the blowing of horns not just once but thrice. The blowing was a sign that something would happen. The killing will start between the culprit and defenseless humans, but we don't know who the culprit is.

I wiped Robo bleeding ears and kissed him on his forehead to ease his fear and tension because the horning was over even though I was not sure if another horning would happen again. Robo looked at us with worry because the horning was scaring him.

"Don't be scared. Everything is alright now," I told Robo while scratching his head.

"Look," The man said with big eyes because he couldn't believe what he saw while pointing to the enormous black capsule-like vehicle flying in the sky.

Another capsule-like appeared until the sky was filled with the capsule-like flying and landed in our city. One capsule-like landed in front of me. The capsule is covered with smoke, symbolizing it travelled miles away to get here.

Robo starts to get mad again. Seeing the black capsule thrice more significant than the double-sized bus, they were everywhere. They landed everywhere. That gave me goosebumps because seeing that thing in front of us told me that a big danger would come, but I ignored it because I was mesmerized by the capsule in front of us.

"Wow", I whispered because it was my first time seeing an unidentified object land on earth before King and me.

"They are not from M.C.C., right?" I asked King while I never took my eyes off the thing in front of us.

"They are not", King answered with a 101% tone that it was not from M.C.C.

I strolled to the capsule to see it closer. I wanted to know where it was made, but King warned me not to get closer or even touch it and stay close to him because he had a bad feeling about the capsule, but I didn't listen because I was curious about it. I want to know what it was.

"Come back here, " he whispered, and I looked back at him and the capsule in front of me.

I looked closer at the capsule, and my eyes could not believe what I was seeing because the capsule was not made of anything. It is not made of copper, steel or even iron. It is made of something I don't know because its materials cannot be seen on earth, which made me awe. I saw a thing inside the capsule, and it seemed it was sleeping. It looked like a human, but the arms and legs were longer than humans and were folded inside the capsule. It was covered like a ninja. It seems that it is hibernating, and the capsule is its egg that travelled miles away to land on Earth. I touch the capsule to feel its texture when the IT inside suddenly awakens. It looked at me, and the capsule opened.
