chapter 4

The sun blared through the windows of the hospital room. Jay and Hailey were still in the same position as they were since the nightmare had happened.

Even if it was a one time thing Jay couldn't help but smile at the fact that he had his partner that he has had feelings for the longest time was sleeping close as they've ever been together.

Natalie came in with Haileys last doses of meds before she was able to be discharged. Obviously Hailey was worn out so she was still glued to Jay but Nat wanted Hailey to get home and rest in her own bed as quick as possible.

"Can you wake her up?" Nat asked Jay which he nodded and started to rub Haileys back a little faster. "Hails, can you wake up?" he asked. Jay prayed Hailey wasn't the type of person that if you woke her up it would be like a demon took over them.

It took a few good shakes and whispers to get her to wake up but as soon as she did she was like a happy little kid. Sitting up she accidentally rubbed against Jays member because of situating which made him groan but only she could hear, which caused her to giggle softly.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom and change my clothes." Jay stayed walking off and disappearing into the bathroom.

As soon as he was out of sight Natalie practically screeched. "So.. what are you guys?" she asked jumping up and down like a little kid.

"That's a good question.." Hailey paused and looked down, "I'm not sure, but Nat.. I don't know if i'll be able to do me and him. I mean yeah I really do love Jay but like.. with Ethan and everything. I don't know if I can get into any relationship anymore." she said starting to feel guilty about what she just poured out.

Natalie inserted the shot into Haileys lower arm putting a bandaid overtop, "It'll take time, but if you truly do love him Hailey. You'll know he's the right man. I mean I see the way Jay looks at you, the way he's cared for you the past years and I think he's a good guy for you." she said now looking Hailey in the eye.

"I say just give it a try. You only life once right?" she shrugged before walking out to get the papers for Hailey leaving her in a state of thought.

By the time Nat was back Jay was back as well sitting in the chair beside Hailey. "Alright, so Hailey you're all set to go. We're going to have to get you check ups every two weeks but other than that you're perfect." she said handing over the small stack of papers which were quickly signed as Hailey wanted to get out of 'Jail'.

Then Natalie left and it was just Jay and Hailey. The two of them sat in silence for a good solid minute before Hailey broke the silence and said, "I need to get dressed before we leave.. umm could you maybe step out for a second?".

"Yeah, of course." Jay said walking out the room doors, he decided it would be an okay time to ask Will a question. "Hey Will." Jay said walking up to his brother.

"I was wondering.. was Hailey.." he looked down to his feet barely able to look his brother in the eyes while saying the sentence he couldn't even finish.

"Yeah.. she was." Will responded and soon Jays facial expression changed. He needed to protect Hailey as much as he could, how could someone hurt her like this?

"But she's going to be okay." Will said placing a hand on Jays shoulder. When Jay turned around Hailey was standing behind him.

"I'm ready to go!" she said with a smile plastered onto her face. The two walked out of the hospital, side by side the their car.

The way to Haileys place was quite quiet, one in a blue moon they would exchange looks but that was it. Driving up to her apartment Hailey only had the emotions and feelings nobody wants to have.
