Life Is Not Always A Fairytale

~Chapter 2

"Hey stesia" Kim waved at me

"Hey Kim" I waved at her before putting on my apron.

Kim is the only person here that is less harsh on me and I'm fine with it. Although, we don't tag along well. We only say hi's and goodbye's and then talk about business and that's all. My presence irritates the others and I'm fine with it.

"Ana!"

"Yes ma'am" I turned to answer the manager, Mrs Kelly

"Why didn't you come yesterday?"

"I was kind of ill ma'am. I'm sor..."

"The next time you miss work for a day, you'll be FIRED!" She yelled

"But ma'am I was..."

"It's none of my business. Now, make me some money" she yelled more and left the cafe

Urggh!!

"There's a customer" Kim yelled

"Coming!" I ran out quickly to meet them.

"Welcome. What can I get for you?" I asked, not raising my face to look at the lady. Obviously it's a lady because of her shoe.

"A plain coffee" the lady said

"Be right back" I go to place her order and wait for it and then, I go to serve the lady.

"Thank you" she said and i gave a curt nod.

I continue like this for 5 hours before my shift was over and I head to the bookshop.

"Good day Delia" I greeted the old woman even when I know that she's not gonna reply to my greeting. She hates me but because she needs assistance, that's why she hired me.

"I'm going to gamble. Take care of my shop. If! Anything gets missing, I'll make sure I DON'T PAY YOU!" she yelled the last part and slammed the door on her way out.

This is what i pass through everyday. Remind me why I was born again?

I sit down, waiting for someone, anyone to open that fucking door and buy a book.

"Hello?" A lady with a small child entered

Now that's rare

"Good day ma'am"

"Yeah. I - Ew! You look hideous and ugly" she shrieked and the baby cried

I shouldn't have removed my cap

"Sorry" i said, putting on my cap.

"Whatever! I need Economics textbook for grade 6"

"Hold on" I go to look for it and few minutes, I was back with the book.

"Don't give it to me! Drop it there I'll pick it up myself" she kept a disgusted face

Wtf! Being treated like I have a disease? Still not new to me.

"Keep the change" she walked out hurriedly from the bookshop after picking the book

I slump into my chair. I hate myself. Is it bad for someone to have a scar on their forehead? For goodness sake it's not a big scar but it's very visible.

I rest my back comfortably on a chair and bring out an English text book to read. Another thing I gain from this book shop is that, I read a lot of book when granny isn't around. Cos, if she sees me with her book, I'm dead! Few hours later, I lock down the bookshop and head home .

Time to think of what to eat, cry myself to sleep and hope that everything will be okay because I mean, I'm not the only one suffering right?
