Helen suddenly woke up
"Oh!!! holy shit!!.. why is everywhere so dark?? Where is the goddamn lamp!!!!"Helen said, panting, so terrified, she stood up on her bed trying to find where the lamp is, but she couldn't find it, she couldn't see anything.
With shaking hands, petrified with fear, she try to find her phone, anything at all that she can use as light. Screaming all the way in the pitch blackness
Then suddenly, in search for light, one of her hand rested on another hand, a huge, cold, sticky hand
" Oh" she gasped
In seconds she jolted out her room, screaming, slamming into things, just to find anyone.
"Help!!!"Her mother was the the first to be woken by her daughter's screams, she turn on her lamp, took her phone, with her lights on to go find out what's wrong.
The power system of the house was down because the house was under the process of re wiring. So the entire house was in darkness.
Helen on seeing a light source from a far of a corridor, she ran towards there, discovering her mother." There is a monster in my room, a f*cking huge monster... A monst..er. I touched him, I touched his f*ckin hands mom." Helen started stuttering, she was in shock
" Helen, Helen, come down, what happened? Eh? ,Helen, breath"Her mother was gesturing for her to relax, so she can explain better
" There is a thing, a monster in my room"
" A what? Monster?. Come show me, lets go" her mother gestured for her to follow her to her room." Am not going back there mom"
" What do you mean, you are not going back there.. follow me.." her mother left her and headed to her room, Helen hesitantly followed behind, still in shock.Helen got to her room, it was a huge room, Helen peeped behind her mother's back
" Where is the monster? Helen, I don't see anything." Her mother asked, turning back to look at her daughter with a questioning look.
" You can't see it, it's already gone, now that there is light. Everything was so dark before. The monster must have planned everything" Helen said, walking, back and forth in her room, trying to make sense of everything."The monster knew the power in the house wasn't working, he must have find a way to turn off my lamps, he must have planned everything. Planned to kill me, luckily I woke up" faced her mother, " I would have died mom, I would have.."
Her mother interrupted her," no monster turn off your lamps, I was the one who turned it off."
"What?!!" Helen stared at her mother with bulging eyes." I was the one, I wanted to show you that you can sleep without lights. I... I.. Didn't know that it's will turn out this way
" You didn't know what?! Eh? " Helen screamed at her mother
" You know that I have phobia for darkness, not only that, the darkness abhors monsters that could kill me. One tried to f*cking kill me just now, I touched its hand, I touched its f*cking hand" Helen said, staring at her hand" Helen, language please, am your mother" her mother said trying to calm her down
" And so f*cking what? I could have died"
" Helen please calm done." Her mother said trying to touch her.
" Don't f*cking touch me" Helen screamed at her.Just then her father came in
" What's going on here?"*****************************
At the dinning table, in the following morning, the family were eating.
There was Helen, her mother and her father." So are two keeping malice at each other?" Her father asked, looking at both their faces adjacent him at the table. None of them replied so he continued facing Helen, he said
" You know your mother was trying to help you, right?
Helen replied immediately almost cutting her father short." Help me how? She had no right to do that, she can keep tabs on my phone and location and control my personal life, but she has no right to turn off my lamps. We all know the way I am in this house with darkness problems, and we've all accepted it, so why did she do that?
Everyone stayed mute.
