It's over. This is the end. I felt tense as soon as I heard my mom's voice from across that door. She's going to come in here and catch us. Alessandro's hand quickly made its way to the door, locking it hastily.

"Viviana!" At this point, my mother was shaking the handle, damn near close to breaking it.

I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him backward, mind linking him while leading him towards the walk-in closet, "hide!"

Alessandro let out a small scoff as I shoved him into the closet, "I will not hide in a closet like a–" Before he could finish, I closed the closet doors and ran to the main entrance of my room, unlocking the door and revealing the small frame of my mother.

She made haste to walk into the room and running her soft hands across my face, checking for any signs of injury, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, mama, I am-" Before I could finish she smacked me on my shoulder roughly, making me yelp, "Why is your room door locked?!"

"I'm a grown woman, ma!" I rubbed my shoulder and grumbled, "What's going on anyways? Why is the power out?"

My mother sighed and sucked in a breath, "we don't know, William thinks it might be an attack on the royal family," she nervously spoke. With just those words Alessandro busted out of the closet and strutted toward us, "Where is William?" He asked my mother.

I didn't have to see her face to know that she was in complete shock. It took her a second to collect her thoughts and when she did she said, "he's- he's by the main entrance.."

"Thank you." Alessandro replied simply and began to walk out before stopping, "Stay here, if anything happens link me, immediately." He told the both of us, but I knew that comment was specifically aimed at me. With that said, Alessandro made his way down the steps and headed for William.

An uncomfortable silence made its way into the air.

"Ana." My mother whispered to me, "Why was the alpha king hiding in your closet?"

"Well... you see, we were playing a very intense game of hide and seek, and obviously," I let out a chuckle, "I won."

She huffed in annoyance, "Tell me the truth!" I gripped her shoulder and gave them a soft squeeze, "I promise I'll tell you everything, ma. I need to go figure out what's going on first." She hummed in response, understanding, and pulled me in for a tight hug, "be safe."

"I will," I told her and ran down the same route Alessandro did a minute ago, despite the darkness and the size of this giant castle, I made my way there without any issues.

The main entrance was lit up with men holding large torches, the staff members held onto candles all while they conversed nervously, discussing what could have caused the power loss. Alessandro and William were standing to the side, clearly trying to resolve the issue, whatever the issue was.

I slowly made my way down the steps when Alessandro's head snapped toward me.

Shit, I forgot he can smell me, when will I get used to having a mate?

He hastily made his way toward me, William not too far behind, he gripped my forearm and yanked me against his solid chest, I didn't mind.

"What the fuck are you doing down here? I told you to stay put," he growled at me, I rolled my eyes in response and pulled my arm out of his tight grip, "what can I say? I'm a curious soul."

William spoke up from behind Alessandro, "Curiosity killed the cat, you know," he laughed at me when I rolled my eyes at him next.

"Right now I think the wolf is about to kill the cat because she can't follow simple orders," Alessandro added.
