The surprise on his face was quickly shielded with an ice-cold look. Alessandro ran his hands over his face and growled in annoyance, "Everyone return to your quarters and lock the doors, do not leave until the situation is handled," he barked out orders, and the party was cleared out immediately.

My parents made their way over to me and bombarded me with questions. "What's in your room? Who have you been speaking with? What is the meaning of this?" Truth be told, I had no clue, the only thing valuable in my room are my Gucci bags and, of course, myself. My father was obviously worried sick and began tapping his foot on the floor like he usually does when he gets nervous.

"Well if those disgusting beasts think they're gonna get their hands on my daughter, they got another thing comin'," my father angrily spoke.

"Damn right they do," Alessandro spoke from beside me, "I'll take Viviana with me. They won't lay a finger on her, you have my word."

My father hesitated, but my mother intertwined her hand with his, "There's no better warrior in this pack than Alessandro, dear. Viviana will be safe. Won't you, my love?" My mother asked, obviously trying to secure me more time with Alessandro.

"That's right, mama, I'll be alright," I gave them both a hug and ushered them to get back to their rooms, Alessandro ordered a guard to stand nearby in case one of the rogues tried to sneak up on them, but that didn't stop my anxiety.

How did the rogues get in? They would've had to make it past the border patrol, front gate security, and the guards in the north wing in order to make it to my room. I know rogues are reckless, but they are not strong enough to make it past that many warriors. It's unheard of.

Alessandro began to bark orders at the warriors, telling them to find the rogues and make sure to keep them alive for questioning.

My hands at my side began to shake, I think that alcohol was finally starting to kick in. Nervousness crept up my spine and tears threatened to fall down my face. My heart was racing and I did the first thing I thought would calm me down.

I clung on to Alessandro's hand, intertwining it with mine, hoping the bond would calm my nerves, but it didn't make much of a difference as I assumed, turns out the bond isn't strong enough for that yet. The crowd of warriors now seemed to now be focused on me, confused about what possessed me to hold his hand.

My cheeks began to heat up in embarrassment and I quickly separated from him, he noticed the unwanted eyes on me and growled, "You all have your orders, go!" He shouted, the crowd scrambled and reentered the castle, all dividing to take separate parts of the castle, determined to find these rogues.

Meanwhile, I stared at the ground, embarrassed, still trying to calm my breathing and racing heart.

Alessandro turned to me, gripped my shaky hand back into his, and coldly said, "Look at me, Viviana."

I raised my head and met his gaze, my eyes were watery with pure fear, "take a deep breath, Vi, you're fine." He raised his other hand to my face and caressed me, finally giving me the relief that I was longing for. I closed my eyes and matched his breathing. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale until my heart stopped ramming against my chest.

When I opened my eyes, he was still gazing down at me, his eyes flickering from my lips and back to my eyes. "You don't have to be afraid, you know," he mumbled. I originally thought he was talking about the invasion but, based on the look in his eyes, he was talking about something entirely different.

"Afraid of what?" I voiced back, his thumb rubbed against my lower lip, "afraid to touch me in public." He responded with a sly smile.

I opened my mouth to protest but he cut me off before I could finish, "I am just as much yours as you are mine," he finished his sentence and rubbed the sides of my arm with his fingers.
