When the pressure takes place
And worldly possessions take hold,
Let me be reminded
To return to you. When the candlelight goes out
Upon a doomed night,
Let me be reminded
To pray the night away. When my muscles ache
From life’s unfair game,
Let me be reminded
Of your ultimate prize. When fear and jealous hold the throne
Over my guilty heart,
Let me be reminded
Of your truth and justice. When thoughts enter my mind
To poke the angered beast,
I pray to be reminded
To seek answers rather than let the beast feast.
When my labor uses all my strength
And my well of words run dry,
Let me be reminded
That the burden is not just for me to bear. When the bully’s words or passerby’s comment
Render me useless for a response,
I pray I will know
A future response.Remind me,
When a solution pleas for change I can make
Even if doubters persist,
That i may see your sign. When I hit snooze on your reminders
I pray that they will keep coming like ice water
To wake my tired muscles,
And open my eyes back to you.
