Wendy sat on the window ledge, looking out at the starry night sky. She sighed wistfully, dreaming of adventure and excitement, rather than the mundane life she was currently living. As the eldest of three siblings, she had been forced to take on the responsibility of caring for her two younger brothers after their parents passed away. While she loved them dearly, she couldn't help but feel trapped in her current life.
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice calling out to her.
"Wendy, do you hear that?" It was Michael, her youngest brother.
"Hear what?" Wendy replied, still lost in her thoughts.
"The music, Wendy! Listen!" John, her other younger brother, chimed in.
Wendy strained to listen and could faintly hear a melody drifting through the air. "Yes, I hear it," she said with a smile.
"Where do you think it's coming from?" Michael asked, looking at Wendy with wide eyes.
"I'm not sure," Wendy replied, her mind starting to race with possibilities.
"Maybe it's a sign," John said excitedly. "Maybe it's a sign that we're supposed to have an adventure!"
Wendy smiled at her brothers' enthusiasm. "Perhaps it is," she said, feeling a spark of excitement herself.
Together, the three of them followed the music, which led them to a small clearing in the nearby woods. There, they saw a figure sitting by a campfire, playing a flute. It was a young man with messy brown hair and mischievous brown eyes.
"Hello there," Wendy said, approaching him cautiously. "What brings you to this part of the woods?"
Peter was surprised to see Wendy standing there, as usually the song only brought children, not adults. He wondered what she was doing there, but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside. After all, he was in the midst of growing his empire, and he had more important things to think about than one random woman who had stumbled upon his island.
But as he looked at her more closely, he could see the yearning in her eyes. The same yearning that he had once felt himself before he had become the leader of the Lost Boys. He wondered if perhaps he could use that to his advantage, to bring more people to his cause.
"Welcome to Neverland," he said with a grin. "I'm Peter, and I'm here to show you the adventure you've been dreaming of."
He decided right then and there to entice her to join her brothers, thinking wickedly of how he could use them all for his gain. He greeted her with a roguish smile,
"So," he said, tilting his head to one side. "What brings you to Neverland?"
"I heard the music and followed it," Wendy replied, a bit hesitantly.
Peter's smile grew wider. "Ah, the music. It has a way of drawing people in. Well, you're in luck, because I happen to be heading to Neverland right now."
Wendy's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? How do we get there?"
"Second star to the right, and straight on till morning," Peter said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "But easier still is to follow me."
As they started to walk, Peter's mind raced with possibilities. With Wendy and her brothers on board, he could expand his empire even further, knowing that a mother figure would entice children to come. He could use her brothers to gather information, recruit more lost boys, and even steal from other pirates. Peter was pleased with himself for thinking of such a devious plan.
Peter had been so preoccupied with expanding his rule over Neverland that he had forgotten all about his encounter with Captain Jones. He had been enjoying the freedom and the thrill of being the leader of the Lost Boys, and he had been so busy with his games and adventures that he had not thought about the consequences of his actions.
