The Story Of Eugene 🎵

Chapter 4

They arrived at the airport, staff arrived to help unload and carry luggage.

"Everyone! Get checked in! Go through security! Y'all have your own tickets!", yelled Scott. "Our flight to our first layover is delayed an hour! So you guys have time! We have an entire gate and plane reserved for us!"

On the way to Brisbane, they had to take 2 planes, and Scott reserved gates for all of them.

Eugene grabbed his cello and suitcase out of the compartment and Lucky grabbed his stuff. Eugene checked in his instrument and suitcase and kept his backpack as a carry-on. Lucky was about to check in his instrument but Eugene stopped him. "Ah! No, buddy. I'll carry it.", said Eugene. "Okay.", Lucky responded. Lucky's cello being so small (Specifically a 1/32 size), Eugene had a fear it would get destroyed. Eugene and Lucky got through security with no issues and walked to the gate, where a few people were already there. As time passed, people slowly filled the gate.

A little bit later, it was time to board. Eugene and Lucky got first-class seats, Eugene got a window seat while Lucky got a seat in the middle row, they were directly next to each other. Eugene's stand mate, Dimitri Haun, also got first class but he sat in the seat behind Eugene.

Dimitri is an old Cesky Terrier in his mid 50s, he is very humble and kind. "Hello, Eugene!", said Dimitri. "Hello, Mr. Haun.", Eugene replied. "Please, call me Dimitri.", said Dimitri, "You don't have to call me 'Mr. Haun'." "Okay.", Eugene responded. Then Dimitri turned to Lucky and said, "You excited?". Lucky nodded his head. Amber, who was sitting behind Dimitri, said under her breath, "This is gonna be a pain. I don't know why he brought his stupid brat kid.". "Hey! Watch it.", Dimitri snapped. "Lucky is a well-behaved young man.". Lucky has never thrown a fit out in public.

Amber Gates was a Chihuahua and about the same age as Dimitri, she was a viola player and was the assistant principal, she was often envious of Eugene. Amber, during breaks, would often gossip about Eugene and Lucky, but nobody wanted to listen to her. She even went on to Scott but he wanted none of it also.

Eugene would always take Lucky to rehearsals and Scott's wife, Sara, was there every rehearsal. But, often times Sara would watch over Lucky. Eugene always brought stuff for Lucky to play with during rehearsal, he was either watching is dad play or playing games on his tablet. Eugene tried giving Sara some money as a thank you for watching over Lucky but she said she was fine watching Lucky and that he didn't have to pay her.
