Blueberry's pov
As we walked into the elevator, I could feel all the eyes on me. It didn't matter that when I tried to catch them they looked away, I knew they looked back.
When we finally got into the elevator, I felt almost at peace. Almost. But, I knew we were gonna have to get back out. I paid attention to the elevator ding as we went down the floors. Once, twice, three times and we stopped. I just realized how much I seem to count things. Is there a reason I do that or is it normal? Maybe I would look it up or something.
As the doors slid open and we walked out, the three of us walked straight across to the room first viewable from the elevator. Convenient I guess. And they are on the closest floor to the bottom so it'll be easier to get food without being spotted.
They opened the door and we walked in and I looked around for a second. It seemed almost the exact same as my old room. Except for the fact that it, well, wasn't.
I sat down in a chair they had next to a desk and stared at the wall. "So, uhh, what do you want to eat? We'll get your breakfast if you want?" I heard them, Yin in particular, ask me. "I don't want anything." I stated plainly. I was off my eating schedule already. Usually I get dinner at around 8 pm and breakfast at around 4 am. Those are the two main times no one's around.
Well, except last night I guess. Goo was there and if I just hadn't ran into him none of this would've happened. I would've never remembered my sister at this specific time at least. Yin-Yang never would've seen me cut. I never would've... I don't even know why I did that. I've never done that before. It was honestly stupid... as I looked behind me, I saw that Yin-Yang was gone.
They must've slipped out while I wasn't watching I guess. I looked at the clock next to one of the beds. 8:16 am. I guess I've been sitting here a while. I walked around the room exploring anywhere I could, waiting for the brothers return with my head in the clouds.
Knifes pov
I was sitting with Pickel playing some games, like we usually do. But, something about today was off. Probably just earlier this morning (for those of you who don't remember, Knife witnessed the Blueberry thing and also had run into him just before) or something. I must have made it way too noticeable though, since Pickel paused the game and looked at me with a confused expression. "You doin' ok?" He asked me as I sighed "I don't know just some stuff going through my head I guess." I said looking down.
Pickel seemed to ponder to himself at my words and said "Well, can you give me any idea on how to help clear your head?" smiling softly at me. I always loved his smile. It almost seems to welcome you to him. I shook myself out of my thoughts and said "Uh, well, someone I know is going through something and I want to do something about it even though I don't know them very well." I said trying to make Blueberry as vague as I could. He thought for a moment and said "Well, do you know why they are going through what they are?" He asked, trying to get a better read on the situation.
I thought about it and said "Well, no. I honestly don't really know them that well." I admitted, sighing. "Well, then ask them. See if it's anything you can fix." He suggested pointing at me playfully.
I guess it wouldn't hurt. I smiled and said "Thanks, Pickle. For listening I mean." He laughed and said "I was just talking about the game. You're losing with your head in the clouds, it's getting old." He said, rolling his eyes as I laughed. I'd go see Blueberry later.
Right now though, I've gotta beat someone in a little game.
Blueberry's pov
I got up from my new bed. I'd taken a small nap to see if I'd be able to sleep in it. Plus, I was tired from last night.
I looked at the clock. 6:55 pm. "So much for a 'short nap'" I whispered, rolling my eyes.
I looked around and saw Yin-Yang laying on their bed asleep. I honestly wasn't surprised they were asleep so early.
I figured it was tiring living the day with another person. That sounded horrible. I was about to start staring off into space when I heard a knock at the door.
I didn't want to wake up Yin or Yang so I figured I may as well answer it. As I reached for the handle, I could hear someone tapping their foot impatiently on the other side. 'Maybe it's Sonic' I thought as I swung open the door. It wasn't. It was Knife. (A.N. Video game nerd, video game character, same thing) Of all people I honestly didn't expect him to come over.
"Hey Blueberry." He said, visibly uncomfortable. "Hello." I said in my usual monotone voice. "Do you... need something?" I asked confused. "Um, yes I suppose I do. Can I come in?" He offered as I moved aside for him.
He sat down on my bed as I closed the door, following him. I sat down next to him as he started. "I, uh, wanted to ask you one or two things about... last night." He said, hesitated with his words. I looked at the ground "Sure Mr. Therapist." I said looking at the wall now. "What caused you to do that?" He asked.
I figured it's what he wanted to know but it still felt weird coming out of someone else's mouth. Snapping out of those thoughts, I went back to his question. It honestly took me a few minutes but, nonetheless, I knew it had to come out soon enough. "I uh, had a nightmare and a panic attack about my sister's death." I whispered, ripping off the band-aid as quickly as I could.
He looked at me in shock and utter disbelief. Whatever he was expecting me to say I don't think it was that. He could've made up thousands of possible things for me to say but, I don't think he would've thought of that one anytime soon. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know." He said quickly "W-was it recent?" He asked quietly. "No. About 15 years ago, give or take." I said nonchalantly.
He seemed surprised at this "Does anyone know?" He asked as I shook my head "I don't believe so." I muttered. "Why hasn't she been recovered?" He asked suddenly. I looked at him confused. "What do you mean?" I asked and he said "Well, usually objects have a source of recovery and very rarely die forever. Even when they do, I know where they go." my eyes shot open like a bullet at the information. I tried to say something but it took me a while to get out.
Eventually it was: "Wait so, you know where she could be?!".
1268! I remade it 🥲. This chapter got deleted and I was very sad so I was working on it all day because I was demotivated to exist. I'm pretty sure there will be one or two more chapters then this thing will end. A remake will come in one day though.
