Earth-222 - Past
High Priestess Agnetha's Pov
"Our Coven is founded by the Volur Priestesses," I explained to Elder Ulvaeus who unlike the man named Brother Claudius, is more open-minded to listen about their magical practice and customs. "Witchcraft!" Hisses Brother Claudius. She tried her best to convince him that they mean no ill intent and just simply wanted to get along. After all, this is now the world they're living in. She understood that neither the coven nor the sanctum has no place to go other than this world they landed on. It is indeed witchcraft, the branch of magic that specializes in using dark energy. Everything has dark energy it's up to the caster how they will channel it. Their coven has taught them that dark energy can be transformed into light energy with immense practice and focus. And when it is transformed into light energy it could be manifested into something good.
At least Elder Ulvaeus is willing to listen. He nodded to me as if willing me to continue.
"Volurs..." He thought. "Like Asgardian magic! Sightseers and clairvoyance!" He added.
"Exactly! However thanks to our ancestral priestesses. We discovered to channel dark energy into something better," I explained as if to prove my point to the leader of the monastery-like sorcerer sanctum, himself. I conjured dark energy from my fingertips manifesting mystical purple energy mists from them. I projected them on the wheat field nearby to the Sanctum Elder's surprise the fields started growing rapidly ready for harvest even though it was planted a day ago.
"Marvelous!" Elder Ulvaeus said. He then produces his fiery energy into thick lasso-like bands and properly them like an oversized boomerang to till the fields in an instant. He looks at me with those blue eyes it felt like I'm staring straight at the ocean when I gaze upon them. As much as I like this man there is no point in being with him. He is the leader of his flock and he is meant to be with them. Just like I am meant to be with my coven. A while ago he has invited me to a mass to honor their sanctum, Saint Brigid. It did not take too long for me to patch up together that we are worshipping the same woman. He knows it too. But the Brothers and the Sisters of the Sanctum are adamant that they are different. Even my coven knows they're the same and accepted it without detest. Saint? Goddess? She's the same.
"I'm so sorry for how they eyed on you," Elder Ulvaeus said. I nodded, he was referring to the gazes of judgment I'd receive from the higher officials of the sanctum. He was the one leading the sermon earlier, a passage from their scriptures about Saint Brigid's miracles. It was a far cry from how we celebrated Mother-Goddess Brigith. We celebrate not locked up within walls... The meal they have is plain rye bread, avocado spread, and a glass of malty lager. Everyone was seated systematically, rows upon rows and a bit far from the other as if afraid that one touch from each other would incinerate them. Skin to skin teaches sin - described one sanctum Brother described. As the High Priestess of a coven, I would be with the higher officials alongside Elder Ulvaeus. Thankfully, it wasn't too strict with the common sorcerer/sorceress.
"Don't be Elder Ulvaeus, it's alright. I understand," I said with a simple smile. Though deep down I hope that we could all live in harmony. No prejudice just peace and respect. The common witches/warlocks have no trouble getting along with common sorcerers/sorceresses.
But surely the changes are now more prominent. You see, the ales of the coven produce more batches quickly than the Abbey Sanctum's lagers. There are already settlements setting root in between the forest and the coast (future city) based on the census. Other than the ale producing more variety, it is quicker to brew requires warmer temperatures, and requires very little aging time, unlike the lagers that are left in the tanks within the Abbey sanctum's cellars for months or weeks to smoothen out. It did not take too long before the higher Brothers of the Sanctum who are in charge of the profit and manufacture of their beers started to take notice.
