III | So That Was The Plan

Taehyung always thought that royal families were some egotistical, conceited, stuck-up bunch of people who deemed they were higher than everyone else, even to the upper echelon.

Again, he thought.

But when he met Prince Seokjin, even met the youngest prince of the Seoul Royal Palace, and after meeting His and Her Majesty in person just an hour ago?

He thought wrong.

The King and Queen were never like the snobbish ones he watched in the movies or heard of in tales. They were kind and sweet people -- like his own parents. Prince Jungkook? The naughty, little brother he never had. Prince Seokjin? Well...

He was yet to meet Princess Irene, but as what he had heard from the others, she was also a graceful, humble and fun to be with member of the royal family.

Maybe that is why the Central Palace's Royal Family is so loved by the people.

"Hello, Mr. Kim. I'm Lim Dowoon, the sous chef of the Central Palace's Kitchen," the chef introduced himself in front of Taehyung before bowing. "I will be the one to personally serve you your lunch for today. Haegyung-ssi assigned me to cook for you, as I am also the one who is responsible for Princess Irene and Prince Jungkook's meals. May you be satisfied with the dishes I have made especially for you, Sir."

Isn't he the youngest iron chef of Korea who studied at the Paris Culinary Academy? So he's also working here even though he has many restaurants around the country already? Gosh, I didn't even notice him entering!

"I'm sure I will," answered Taehyung.

"Do you like His Royal Highness' indoor rainforest? You can eat here if you want as the animals around here are trained. The other ones are enclosed somewhere."

Taehyung was currently inside Prince Seokjin's huge, indoor forest enclosure, a tropical glasshouse, located on the top floor of the Prince's manor which was on the East side of the palace.

Taehyung loved it.

It might be his favourite spot in Seoul.

Big tortoises bathing on the puddle and fishes swimming back and forth in the lily fountains; four sugar gliders transferring from one golden cane palms to another.

A pair of scarlet macaws, love birds and colourful cockatoos were flying up above him, basking in the heat of the sun while another one swooped down gracefully.
