IV | His Royal Duties & The Royal Bitch
"Sir Taehyung, as you are now Prince Seokjin's fiancé and the future Prince Consort of the Seoul Royal Palace alongside His Royal Highness, the royal protocols state that you are to reside in Prince Seokjin's East manor only until the day of your wedding," Haegyung-ssi explained to Taehyung in a calm and collected tone while he followed him around without a word.
"Okay," he mumbled, listening intently to what the chief attendant was saying.

The two of them entered the elevator; Haegyung-ssi pressed the buttons while Taehyung stood still beside him.
"Your room is located on the same floor as the Prince, and since the place is very spacious, you will have the entire west wing to yourself, likewise Prince Seokjin has the entire east wing to himself. After the wedding, you will be escorted immediately to your new residence which is the Seocho Royal Palace. This is a strict royal tradition of the Central Palace: to let the heir apparent who is married to live in the Seocho estate together with his or her spouse, and only after he or she will be crowned as the King or Queen can he or she return to the Seoul Royal Palace to rule and live until another King or Queen will be crowned once more."
"Why so? I mean, for sure there's a reason, right? This manor alone is so huge that it would probably take me days before I find Ji-"
He abruptly stopped as Haegyung-ssi coughed, subtly reminding him of how to address each royal family member, especially if he was out in the public, just like he taught him earlier.
"-before I find His Royal Highness," Taehyung continued after reconstructing his words.
The old man chuckled knowingly then, saying, "Sir, I believe the sole reason for this tradition is for you and the Prince to build and start your own family without any pressure and interference from the royalties, especially from the Royal Mother. It's been so long since there are royal children running around the halls or on the palace grounds. In Seocho Royal Palace, you will have more freedom and time to raise the future princes or princesses of Seoul."

Taehyung's cheeks heated up, quickly understanding what he meant.
"Once your engagement will be announced officially to the public, you will automatically have certain duties to fulfill as Prince Seokjin's significant other. You will, of course, accompany him and have to attend numerous events, ceremonies, and royal gatherings. Some of these will be social while the others are going to be political, especially now that the national elections are fast approaching. Many politicians and party lists will try to get into the Central Palace's good favor as usual. If ever Prince Seokjin will not be available to attend any said event due to some changes of his schedule that is beyond his control, you will have to attend on behalf of His Royal Highness and the Seoul Royal Palace."
