Chapter Eight

The ground bridge opened up inside of the base. Miko jumped up from the couch, passing the remote to Jack.

"Hey Bulk! How was the...mission.......Bulk?"

Miko was cut short as Bulkhead entered the base, punching the floor as he fell. The rest of the team followed him, with dread on their faces. Smokescreen was helping a limping Arcee get through. Wheeljack trudged behind them. Ratchet's face became more concerned when he didn't see Optimus anywhere.

"Wheeljack- where is Optimus...?" He asked desperately.

Wheeljack bit his lip. "He- he was taken away...by Nemesis....."

"WHAT?!" Ratchet yelled.

Ultra Magnus seemed taken aback; as if he was denying the truth. "Are you sure, soldier? Are you sure it wasn't-"

"Unfortunately he's not lying." Arcee kept her eyes on the floor.

Smokescreen followed, "They took Bee too..." he fisted the wall. "Damn it- if only I was there!"

"No!" Raf cried, Jack ran over to him when Raf fell on his knees and started to cry. "Please don't tell me he's-"

"He's not dead. At least....not yet. They're keeping him hostage, that's how they got Optimus." Bulkhead replied.

"No....." Jack muttered.

The base went silent.

Ratchet finally spoke, breaking the silence. "I doubt we'll be able track them when they are on Nemesis' ship.....we'll have to wait for them to land or open a ground bridge-"

"BUT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG THAT MIGHT TAKE?!" Arcee seemed to have lost her patience. "WHAT IF THEY TAKE THE TWO OF THEM TO THEIR DIMENSION, HUH?"

Ratchet shouted back. "WELL WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! IM ONLY A DOCTOR, ARCEE- NOT A MAGICIAN!"

"STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU!" Jack yelled. "Arguing is not going to get us anywhere! We need to figure out how to get Optimus and Bee back- not have inner conflict with each other!"

The Autobots looked over to Jack, then realized their mistake. The base went silent once more; without their leader....what were they going to do?
