It's been a month since Lucas died. Things have gotten much better. School ended a few weeks ago. My parents decided that we should go to the beach today, with the Johnson family.
A month ago, I would have hated that. But since that day at the hospital, me and Noah have been friends.
Either way, I woke up early. Really early for me, especially in summer.
I got up at 6:00 and ate a granola bar. Then I got dressed. I wore a cute two piece swimsuit and sandals. I left my hair down but still combed it. I put on some lip gloss and sunscreen.
For the first time since Lucas died, I was completely fine. I was happy.

We drove to the beach. It took twenty minutes but we were there before the Johnsons.
My dad parked while me and my mom went to find a spot.
A few minutes later, the Johnsons reached and found us. The parents sat down and talked. Amy and James, the 10 year old twins, were playing in the sand and waves. Me and Noah decided to go explore a cave nearby.
We walked in silence, just looking at the sand and ocean. When we got there, we sat on a log.
"So... Emma..."
"Yeah?"
"You look nice..."
"Thanks, you too"
"Thanks... listen... I don't know how to say this..."
"Just say it, I'm listening..." He was looking at me funny so I added, "what?"
"Nothing, just that... I like you, a lot..." He saw the look on my face and added a mumbled sorry.
I shook my head and kissed him. We kissed for a few seconds before he pulled away.
"Wait? I thought you hate me?"
I just shrugged. He kissed me again.
We sat there kissing and holding hands for the next hour or so. Then my phone rang, my mom was calling for us to come back.
We walked back slowly, holding hands.
The parents had got food, so we ate.
Then everyone sat in the sand for sometime before going into the water.
We stayed there until sunset.
It was really fun!

School starts in less than a week! Yayyyyy (sarcasm)
On a happier note, Noah and me are officially boyfriend and girlfriend! Our parents know too, so we don't have to make up random excuses to see each other.
The only good thing about school starting is that I'm in the same homeroom class as all my friends. And the rest of the periods I have Noah, and at least one other friend!
Yayyyy School!! (Sarcasm)
