Rosé couldn’t sleep that night. She tossed and turned in her bed, thinking about Jennie and what she had done. She felt guilty and conflicted, wondering if she had made the right decision. She knew she had feelings for Jennie, but she also knew that being with her would be complicated and risky. She didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship or their group’s success. She thought that lying to Jennie would be the best way to protect both of them, but now she realized that it had only hurt them more.
She reached for her phone, wanting to call Jennie and apologize. But she hesitated, afraid of what Jennie would say or do. She didn’t know if Jennie would ever forgive her or trust her again. She didn’t know if they could ever go back to the way they were before.
She sighed and put her phone away, feeling hopeless and alone. She wished she could talk to someone who understood her situation, someone who could give her some advice or comfort.
She thought of Lisa, her best friend and confidante. She wondered if Lisa knew about her and Jennie, and if she did, what she thought of it. She wondered if Lisa would judge her or support her.
She decided to take a chance and text Lisa, hoping that she was still awake.
Rosé: Lisa, you there?
Lisa: Yes, why?
Rosé: Can I talk to you about something?
Lisa: Sure, what’s on your mind?
Rosé: It’s about Jennie…
Lisa: What about her?
Rosé: I…I lied to her.
Lisa: What do you mean?
Rosé: I told her that I don’t have feelings for her anymore.
Lisa: What? Why would you do that?
Rosé: Because I was scared. Scared of what it would mean for us, for our group, for our fans.
Lisa: Rosé…you can’t lie about your feelings. That’s not fair to you or to Jennie.
Rosé: I know, I know. But I didn’t know what else to do. I thought it would be easier this way.
Lisa: Easier for who? Not for Jennie, obviously. And not for you either. You’re hurting yourself by denying your true feelings.
Rosé: But Lisa…what if we can’t be together? What if it causes too much trouble? What if we lose everything we’ve worked so hard for?
Lisa: Rosé…you can’t live your life based on what ifs. You have to follow your heart and do what makes you happy. And if being with Jennie makes you happy, then you should go for it.
Rosé: But Lisa…what about you? How do you feel about this?
Lisa: Me? What do you mean?
Rosé: Well…you’re my best friend. And I know you’re close with Jennie too. And I don’t want to hurt you or make things awkward between us.
Lisa: Rosé…you don’t have to worry about me. I’m happy for you and Jennie. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.
Rosé: Really? You’re not mad at me? Or jealous?
