Sienna
My father's words echo through my brain as I'm standing in the podium. It's the first race of the season, in Bahrain, and we've started this season great, with Max in pole, me in second, and Charles in third. The next few hours pass in a blur, between talking with the team and doing interviews, I finally find myself alone and in silence as I'm walking back to the garage. Until that is ruined.
"Sienna!" I hear someone call my name and instantly recognize the voice. God why is this happening to me?
"What's up Charles?" I say, when he appears beside me.
"That was a great race, you defended very well." He says, and through my peripheral vision I can see that stupid smirk of his.
"Why do you sound so shocked? I'm a better driver than you." I say, and he laughs. Stupid bastard.
"Ok Sienna, if that helps you sleep at night." He says and I want to slap that grin off his face. I see my garage getting close.
"I know my second place trophy will. Au revoir Charles, see you in Saudi Arabia." I say, and head inside the garage so that I can leave this conversation as fast as I can.
"See you then, chérie." I look back and catch him still staring. I hope I beat him in every race this season so he can stop smiling at me like that.
As I get into my drivers room and sit down, a memory washes over me. It was Christmas Eve. Me and my dad always spend every holiday with the Leclercs at their house in Monaco, it's been like this my whole life. It was late, me, Charles and Arthur were a bit drunk and at some point Arthur left to go to bed leaving me and Charles alone. We were silent for a bit, the only sound I could hear came from the fireplace. Sundendly, Charles got up and sat next to me.
"So Sienna, are you excited to start training for the new season?" Charles asked.
"I am. Can't wait to beat you again." I said, smiling. He laughed a bit making me laugh too.
"You're an amazing driver, it doesn't suprise me if you win World Champion this year." He said looking at me, a little smile on his lips.
"Carefull, Charles or I might start to think you don't actually hate me." I said, a playfull tone in my voice and I took a sip on my wine.
He looked at me for what felt like ages, the fire reflecting on his face making him look even more beautiful. "C'mon Sienna, you know I don't really hate you. We just play around sometimes. I insult you, you insult me, but that's it." His face turns serious and his gaze goes to my lips. I feel my heart skip a bit and I turn so that he doesn't see that my face became red. Then I said goodnight and went to sleep.
We never talked about it after that, and we just went back to our normal relationship. I insult him and he insults me, just like he said. I can't deny I don't feel this attraction to him, I mean he's beautiful. But it's so complicated, with our families, with us racing for rival teams. And he pisses me off. So much. How could I ever get involved with him?
I shake my head in an effort to forget about this. I gather my things and leave to go back to the hotel. Tomorrow I have an early flight back home. Since we have 2 weeks until the next race in Saudi Arabia, I can go back to Monaco for a few days and then I'll head to Austria, to practice in the simulator.
I can't aford to think about anything else right now, especially not Charles.
