As a 19 year old, you were considered a young adult. Naturally you couldn't live in your previous home, as it was to this day covered in blood and your families remains.

Demon hunting wasn't known by the government, neither were demons, so the pay wasn't high. You got enough money to buy yourself food, a place to live in however was hard to come by.

After voicing your problems to your dear friend Kanae, she almost too quickly offered hospitality at the butterfly estate.

"Thank you for the offer Kanae, really! But I seriously do not want to be nuisance to you," You complained further.

"Nonsense, I bet Kanao and Shinobu would be delighted to hear you'll be staying over!" She clapped her hands together and offered a joyous smile.

How could you say no to that smile?

You agreed to stay over at the butterfly estate. Ever since Kanae got offered the position of a hashira, she was the owner of the butterfly estate. Shinobu has been working as a nurse and a demon slayer for the time being.

Both of the sisters have achieved a lot of things so far. You on the other hand have only reached one goal so far, and that is finishing the final selection. You envied both of them for everything they've reached with their hard work.

Nonetheless, you worked to look past that and try to support them through any inconvenience.

You settled next to the hospital bed you were assigned to. For now, you were grateful they even offered you to stay over until you found the solutions to your own problems. You lay down, trying to think of ways to gather more money and getting yourself a place to live.

You started to think of how Kanae got offered the hashira position, and how she immediately got the butterfly estate. 

That's it!!

You had to reach your way to the hashira rank, after that not only does your pay get higher, you get a whole estate!

You were already rank Kinoe, so working your way to become a hashira won't be too hard for you. You thought of all the ways you could get there. 

Kanae talked about the mission she's supposed to go to tonight. Supposedly, there were rumors there is an upper moon demon feeding off of female citizens in a nearby village. 

Defeating such a demon would instantly give you the hashira position.

If Kanae got offered to do this mission, then defeating one of the upper moons wouldn't be too difficult, right?

With that thought, you went to sleep.

hearing the crows hollering echo through the butterfly estate, you had instantly woken up.
