As I sank into the cold bath, my shoulder blades started to string as if two parallel heated cattle prods were being pressed into my back. I screamed in agony as steam rolled off the water. I wanted to get out of the tub so badly but I stayed put, thinking of the urge I had to go into the cold water in the first place. I knew I wanted to stay, I knew something would happen if I stayed, and I knew that if I stayed I would get some answers to the questions I had about the marks on my back. I stayed in the tub for what felt like hours but when I looked at the clock, I realized that I had only been there for about 5 minutes. I moved my arms back and forth in an attempt to distract me from the pain, but instead only ended up causing the somewhat fading pain to heat into flames that licked at my back. The flames flourished to both sides of me. The water in the tub boiled and I let out another scream. It hurt so much and I wanted to get out so badly, but as much as I tried I couldn't move. I heard the fire alarms in my house go off before my vision faded into black and all my senses waned.
