mike  rolled  his  eyes  and  walked  to  the  living  room  were   troy   was   sitting   on  the   couch with  his  legs  up   on   the  table  giving  the  other   paladins   orders.  mike  walked  over  to  toby  who  hopper  originally  put  in charge  of  the   group   but  for  some  reason  that  had  changed.   "  what  do  you  want  troy?  "  mike  asked  when  he  found  out  who  the  new  team  leader  was.   "  well  you're  the  only  one  not  doing  anything  so  I  took  the  liberty  of  making  you  guard  the  vampire  downstairs  because  mark  is  getting  anxiety  that  he'll  get  out  "  troy  said,  but  in  truth  the  only  person  getting  anxiety  was  him.  "  why  don't  you  just  go?"  mike  said  clearly  irritated  "  just  shut  up  and  do  as  you're  told  I'm  busy  enough  "  troy  said  and  cracked  open  a  caned  drink  mike  suspected  was  beer.    mike  rolled  his  dark  eyes  and  hastily  and  went  downstairs  to  the  dungeons  to  see  what  will  the  vampire  was  up  to.

will   was  sitting   with  his   back  against  the  wall  and  was  picking   at   is   naturally   black nails   when  mike  came  down. 

will  looked   up  and  smiled   sweetly  causing  mike   to  blush.   "  hi  "  will  said  looking  at  mike  innocently.   "  hi  "  mike  said  blinking  a  little  bit  (  a  weird  habit  of  his  when  he  was  shy  or  nervous  )   "  I'm  assigned to  guard   you  so   you  don't  escape  somehow  "  mike  said  and  then  scolded  himself  in  his  head  because  of  how  that sounded.   will  tilted  his  head  to  the  side  and  looked  as  if  he  was  going  to  ask  a  question  but  smiled  instead   and  pocked  his  hand  out  between  the  bars  and  patted  the  floor  to  indicate  mike  to  sit  down.  "  thanks  "  mike  said  and  sat  down.  mike  had  heard  stories  about  vampires  when  he  was  a  kid  and  in  those  stories  vampires  were  heartless  creatures  who  weren't  supposed  eat  anything  other  then  human  flesh  and  were  supposed  to  look  more  like  monsters  than human  beings  but  will  looked  human  (  which  was  a  huge  relief  )  and  for  some  reason  there  was  normal  food  in  the  fridge  and  in  all  the  pantries.  "   how  come-  "  mike  stopped  himself  not  sure  how  to  ask  this  question  "  how  come  what?  "  will  asked  curiously  "  I  was  just  wondering  why  you  look   human   "  mike  asked.   will  giggled  and  answered  simply    "  maybe  that's  because  I'm  half  human "  will  said  smiling  a  little..  will  continued  talking   before  mike  had  time  to  ask  what  he  meant  "  so  that  means  I  cant  do  stuff  normal  vampires  can,   like   I'm  not  super  strong  or  super  fast  and  I've  never  been  able  to  turn  into  a  bat  and  my  night  vision  only  works  when  I'm  wearing  glasses. "   mike  laughed  at  that.  will  looked  at  mike  and  then  laughed  too.  "  I'm  sorry  "  mike  said  when  he  was  done  laughing.  will  shook  his  head  as  if  to  say  '  its  ok '   

" do  you  still  need  human  blood?  "  mike  asked  will  letting  his  curiosity  get  the  best  of  the  manners  his  mother  had  went  through  hell  to  teach  him   (  not  that  he  ever  really  used  them )  luckily  will  didn't   seem  to  mind  "  well  half  vampire  or  not  I  still  need  blood   just   not  as  often  as  a  normal  vampire  but  I  still  need  it.  although  it  doesn't  have  to  be  human  blood "   will  said  feeling  a  bit  ashamed  but  mike  didn't  say  anything  and  just  nodded.   "  how  come  you  have  so  many  cats?  "  mike  asked  trying  to  lighten  the  mood  since  will  looked  uncomfortable  and  was  biting  his  nails  .  wills  face  lit  up  at  the  mention  of  his  cats.  "  well  I  really  love  cats  and  since  I'm  not  allowed  outside  and  they  don't  need  to  be  taken  for   walks   there  the  perfect  animal plus  there  cute  and  furry  "   will  said  excitedly   "  well  how  many  do  you  have?  "   mike  asked  strangely  happy  to  see  will  smiling  and  excided  "  I  have  twenty five  cats  and  fourteen  kittens  "  will  said  proudly  "  do  you  have  any  cats?  "  will  said  turning  his  attention  back  to  mike  "  well  I  have  a  hamster... "   mike  said  "  how  could  someone  not  have  a  cat  at  there  house? "  will  asked.  mike  smiled  " not  every  one  is  a  cat  person  and  some  people  have  allergies  "   will  looked  away  embarrassed  and   got  the  urge  to  kick  himself.

the  boys  had  been  talking  for  a  long  before  troy  called  mike  up.

mike  said  a  quick  goodbye  before  going  upstairs  half  heartedly.

will   couldn't  get  mike  out  of  his  head  all  night    

'  i  wonder  if  this  is  what  its  like  to  have  a  friend  '  will  thought  before  sleep  took  over  his  thoughts.

a/n    :  sorry  this  chapter  was  so  short  and  boring  but  i  promise  the  next  one  will  be  better  and  somewhat  longer!
