Beautiful Dissonance

A home, surrounded by money.
A life, shrouded by luxury.
A girl, devoid of company.
A family, deprived of love, at least fatherly.
Attention, fixated on the spin of a record needle,
the sales of the music beadle.
The roaring crowds, compared to which the love of a family is menial.
Nature lost, love destroyed, family abandoned, record label overjoyed.
His whispered promises over the phone lines, void.
Stay together for the kids,
This loss of love we face, "temporary", I wish
274 days away,
Missing the kids as they play.
Nature abandoned, love lost, family destroyed, record label overjoyed.
The songs we knew as kids, white noise,
Fashion changing, world evolving, stay at home wife the laundry folding,
Out of touch, out of space,
for her, there is no place
The cameras flash, but she is no longer in the picture,
In her life, her love no longer a fixture,
She screams, the sound muffled by the water in her lungs,
Whilst her love climbs those commercial rungs,
The beautiful world around her shattered beyond repair,
unfamiliar sounds filling the air.
Beautiful dissonance.
