Affogato x Caramel Arrow Oneshots!

Let's start off with the basics, like their backstory and work our way through the headcannons about these two!

Noticing how most of their fanart portrays Affogato to be the cat and Caramel to be the mouse in the cat and mouse chase, I actually agree that this is how their ship dynamic would be. It just makes the most sense. He seems to be the chasing type...well to me at least.

Backstory!

In the beginning, Affogato saw the first-watcher as an obstacle, a threat to his vision, and blocked out all the amazing qualities she showed. He had one thing in his mind...power.

Whenever she was around, ugh he just wanted her to leave immediately. Or if he was allowed to leave, that what he did. Back then the thought of getting close with her or even romantically involved was most repugnant thing ever in his mind.

"Getting along with..her? Augh please...she's just an interference and nothing more."

And she didn't like him either due to his distaste towards her and bittersweet attitude...he started the fire, when it really wasn't necessary.

Caramel was well liked by the watchers and practically everyone in the Cacao Kingdom, and it really made the royal advisor jealous...so envious.

All this envy bottled up when she was chosen for the first-watcher role. And continued to bottle up noticing how much of an amazing cookie she was. Instead of seeing the good in her, it turned into envy...and was honestly afraid that his spot in power, being the royal advisor, would be taken away.

So due to fear, envy, rage, and being desperate for more power...his goal was to rule the Dark Cacao Kingdom. It was risking what he had, but the risk meant getting even more! Being king, having all kneel before him...it would be a dream come true!

When the plan failed, Affogato fled of course...knowing nothing good would come out of the situation if he didn't flee. 

Their next encounter, he got so mad at her of course...since what he had..was gone. While Kumiho and Moon Rabbit were eating sweets, he fought her...his life, and dream was taken away and wouldn't let Caramel go without a fight. And she wouldn't let him pass either for using manipulation to get her demoted as well as banished in the past.

After that encounter the two didn't see each other for a while...Affogato was living his old home near the Dark Cacao Kingdom while Caramel was still doing her duties as the first-watcher.

But they both...had a lot on their minds when come to other.

The first-watcher thought about how Affogato was alone and had no one he was close to...it always seemed like he wanted...a friend. But wouldn't admit it to himself, due to all the darkness shrouding his head. Sure he had followers when taking over the kingdom but they weren't really friends and were brainwashed by his magic. He seemed so...misunderstood.

She had a feeling...that there was more beneath the surface...that he didn't despise her, and that it was the opposite.

"If we come across paths someday...I want to let him know that he's not alone and if he needs someone..I'm here. No matter how many times he tries to deny and push away...I know that's not the truth."

Guilt started to seep in his clouded thoughts when it came to her. The shorter ones sad face, with tears in her eyes...would always try to come in. Even though she got her position back, he still felt like he should apologize. As time went on...the darkness in his thoughts started to fade slowly. However what replaced it was guilt and sadness.

"I pushed her away due to envy, fear, and my own benefit...when I could've been what I wanted to be deep down...her friend. How..foolish and insensitive of me...when she really wasn't even an enemy to begin with, and was a kind and considerate cookie to everyone around her..."
