Argus had waited around twenty minutes, until Godzilla was finally removed from the arena, and the pit returned to its usual perimeters.
"AFTER A LENGTHY WAIT, WE ARE READY FOR OUR FIFTH CLASH!" he announced, causing a cheer to rise up from the crowd. "OUR NEXT BOUT IS BETWEEN TWO COMBATANTS THAT KNOW WHAT IT IS TO HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD. ONE IS UNKILLABLE, WHILE THE OTHER SEARCHES FOR HIS HONOUR ACROSS TIME".
"FIGHTING FOR HEAVEN, WE HAVE THE HIGH PRIEST OF JASHINISM, HIDAN!" Argus called, as Heaven's door slid open. Hidan gripped his three bladed scythe as he walked into the arena."Man! What a bummer. Who is this opponent I can sacrifice to Lord Jashin?!" he asked with a groan.
"AND FOR HUMANITY, WE HAVE THE TIME TRAVELLING SWORDSMAN, SAMURAI JACK!" Argus boomed, as the second door opened. Jack stepped into the arena, his hand tightly grasping the handle of his spare sword, seeing as he had given his original one to Nagisa.
"Today, High Priest, you do not face a shinobi. Today, you face a samurai".
"A samurai huh? I haven't faced a guy who is wearing a bathrobe with a sword. Maybe you might be afraid to face the likes of someone who is an immortal." Hidan mocked.
"Even with that look, I don't think Lord Jashin would think of you as a good sacrifice!"."Sacrifice..." Jack said, drawing his sword and gripping the hilt tightly "...is something you could never understand about me. I have given so much for the sake of honour, and it is that which will let me be victorious today". He placed his foot in front of him, inviting Hidan to make the first attack.
"Oh well. I just hope your not as boring as your guy said. But remember, don't blame me if I told you you're not a good sacrifice".
Hidan held onto the rope that is gripped in his scythe as he threw it towards Jack. The samurai rolled away as the Akatsuki pulled himself towards his scythe. He grabbed onto it and dashed towards Jack. He swung his scythe and hit Jack's sword with no ease. Every swing Hidan made, Jack simply blocked it with ease before receiving a kick from his stomach. His feet slid towards the edge of the arena as he sees Hidan jumping and hitting his three bladed scythe at the samurai.
"YAHOO!!!" Hidan yelled, as it impacted the ground with small pillars of rocks flying towards in different directions. As the smoke cleared, Jack is holding his blade, kneeling against the immortal Akatsuki, who's scythe is about to hit his cheek.Jack kicked Hidan in the chest and sliced his chest. As he was on another side, he pointed his sword at Hidan as the Akatsuki turns facing the samurai.
"Hey!! That hurts, you know!" Hidan yelled before throwing his scythe again. Jack jumped towards the scythe, landing on the rope and running with quick speed, before slashing Hidan three times in his chest again. With that opportunity, Hidan pulled back his scythe and spun it around him, forcing Jack to jump away. Every spin the scythe made, Jack keeps on hitting the blade with great speed.
Hidan grabbed the handle of his scythe and swung an opening area for Jack to get hit in his upper body, giving him a clean cut across his chest. The samurai jumped back and touched the wound in his chest before charging at Hidan again. Hidan spun while trying to aim at Jack, and he lands a hit on the Samurai's hair causing his hair tie to separate leaving Jack's hair free from the wind. Hidan slashed at Jack again and again, making his kimono top destroyed, making him topless. He tumbled away and landed on his feet as Hidan licked the blood of the samurai.
"Well, well, well... I gotta say, you proved me wrong about sacrifice." He said as his skin turned black and some white that made him look like a skeleton.
"You made me realize that you are a worthy sacrifice to Lord Jashin!"Jack now charged at Hidan with great speed and as he slashed his cheek, Jack's cheek bled as well.
"Oh. By the way, you shouldn't get wounded in our fight. Because every damage you hit me, it can also affect you. You are now cursed, and you're about to be my sacrifice to Lord Jashin!"Jack gripped his sword seriously as he studied Hidan's new form. He planned his move so that he wouldn't hurt himself as well.
"Bring it on, Samurai Jack!!!" Hidan yelled as he charged at the samurai. Hidan swung his blade attempting to hit Jack. Jack blocked it with tenacity as he planned to block every blade. But as he attempted to do so, Hidan let himself get hit as Jack received pain from different sides of his body. His arms, his legs, with all Jack's plan, Hidan simply accepted his attacks.Jack now knelt in pain as Hidan laughs at his opponent.
"Yes... I can demonstrate you how it feels to be cursed." Hidan said as he brought out a long black blade in his sleeve. Hidan stabbed his arm, as Jack yelled in pain, feeling the pain Hidan did in his arm.
"Does it feel good? Are you still willing to be sacrificed?" he asked smiling, as Jack felt the searing pain in his arm.Jack gritted his teeth as Hidan still smiled at his opponent."Now... for the final event." He announced while Jack closed his eyes.
"Cursed Jutsu! Death Possession Blood!" Hidan yelled as he prepared to stab himself.
SHLICK!
Hidan stabbed something, but it wasn't his own body.
It was an apple that was thrown by somebody else."What?!"As Hidan looks, he realized that Jack had thrown an apple that was about to aim in Hidan's heart.
It was the same apple Nagisa had given back to the samurai all that time ago. And it had saved his life.
As Hidan realised this, he had returned to his normal state, as Jack took the opportunity to defeat Hidan. Hidan was about to swing his scythe, but Jack held onto the handle and pinned the three blades into the ground. Jack slashed Hidan with all his might using one hand, before decapitating him. Hidan's head bounced back as Jack approaches him, he stepped on the immortal's head, making him wince.
"OW! OW! OW! OW! OW! NOT THE FACE!" Hidan yelled as Jack stepped on the head a little harder."GAHH! OKAY! I YIELD! JUST PUT MY HEAD BACK AT MY BODY! GOSH!"
Jack grinned at these words. "As you wish" he smirked. He picked up the head, and forced it back onto the Akatsuki's neck. Hidan twisted his head a bit until it was securely back on his shoulders, then scowled.
"You got lucky, y'know" he murmured, before picking up his scythe, and trudging back to his side of the arena. Jack sighed, and sheathed his blade.
"AND THE WINNER IS SAMURAI JACK!" Argus boomed, causing cheers from Humanity's stands. "VERY WELL DONE TO HIM! CAN THE ARENA BE CLEARED TO MAKE WAY FOR OUR NEXT FIGHT, IF YOU PLEASE?"
Jack walked back into the room that contained the champions of Humanity, only to be greeted by wide smiles from Nagisa and Puss.
"Great job, I knew you could do it!" Nagisa cheered, hugging the samurai. Jack was taken aback by this action, then he blushed, smiled, and stroked the bluenette's hair.
"Yeah, you had us worried for a bit there!" Puss chortled, reaching out a paw to shake Jack's hand. "Try not to die next time, heh?"
"That would certainly help, yes" Jack chuckled, then looked down at Nagisa silently. He and Puss had survived their fights, both inadvertently through Nagisa's own intervention. Though he didn't realise it, this boy had saved both of their lives.
Would their assistance and training help Nagisa see the crescent moon again?
