"Hey kid, I need you to take this car out for a drive!" Daniel yelled from across the shop.

"Sure, old man!" You yelled back.

Well, Daniel, your boss wasn't that old. He was only 45 but calling him old man really got under his skin.
You put the oil you were carrying around back on the shelf and walked over to him and the car.

You see, you worked in a garage for an old family friend. Daniel had met your parent after he moved into the neighborhood and got lost because he didn't know where any of the stores were. Since he was a funny guy, (not that any of his dad jokes were EVER funny.) They decided to give him their numbers. Even though it was a bad idea because he was a stranger, they ended up becoming great friends with the man.

When you were younger and needed a babysitter, he was the first person they would call. So as you grew up, you created a strong bond with the man. After 17 years of knowing him, he offered you an apprenticeship with him, and started teaching you about cars. You instantly took it because you needed some money so you could move out of your parents house.

You had now worked with Daniel for 2 years and had a great time working with him. Even though he was strict when around cars, he cared about you and still was teaching you everything he knows.

"Ima need you to drive this car a couple of miles and see if there's anything wrong with it," He informed you, "even though there shouldn't be anything wrong."

"Ok sir!" You replied, excited with being able to drive the car. You got you licence at 18 after Daniel had taught you to drive but hadn't been able to convince him to let you dive a car by yourself.

"Do you remember what u told you?"
He said, having a serious look on his face.

"Yes, you tell me it everyday." You replied, "check every window, always have both hands on the wheel, if someone annoys you on the rode, don't hit them, and most importantly, if you feel like something's wrong, stop the car and call you"

"Good, now remember, come straight back after you've finished."

"I will don't worry" you sighed. Daniel honest cared to much sometimes but it was only because he didn't want to see anyone getting hurt.

You soon got handed the keys and got into the car. You started the car and looked up at Daniel.

"Look at that, my favorite worker, finally doing work instead of sitting on his ass all day." He said while wiping away a fake tear from his eye

"Excuse me? I'm your only worker and I do the stuff you asked me too!"

"Mhm... Yeah... Definitely... "

"Shush, I need to focus on driving!" You yelled.

"Your not even driving yet!" He yelled back, "you know what, just go."

You laughed, knowing you had won. You soon waved goodbye to Daniel and drove out of the garage.
