Trinity and Leah sit across from one another, each in meditative positions. Leah tries and tries to clear her mind but nothing is working. There's too much to think about. They have a cousin. One they go to school with. They have cousins and an aunt and uncle that they have never met. One that she considers a friend but how long can that possibly last? If she were to ever slip up, if Cal found out her secret how would she react? Yeah, she knows about Maya but knowing someone is a witch and knowing someone is a shapeshifter is different. She knows what the Guild thinks of shapeshifters and none of it is good.

Trinity kept her eyes closed and continued her breathing, but she was not unaware that there was something about the girl. "You've been fidgeting since we started. Is something the matter?"

Leah's brows furrow in contemplation before she gives up on the exercise with a sigh. "I can't stop thinking about y'all told us." She says.

Trinity opens her eyes as well. "Understandable." She says. "Why don't we try to narrow some of that down more? How do you feel about what we told you?"

Words seem to fail momentarily for Leah as her thoughts scatter. One by one she maps the path before finally being able to speak again. "Confused mostly." She says. "It's not every day you learn that your extended and estranged family members live in the same town as you; close enough that we go to the same school. We can run into them in the grocery store and not even know." She looks down, twisting her fingers. "But also scared. My mind keeps going in circles with all these scenarios y'know? About how many ways something could go wrong. I mean maybe they already know about Maya if Cal told anyone. What if the Guild decides that they need more witches under their umbrella?"

Trinity reaches forward, taking Leah's hand and giving it a comforting squeeze. "Your mothers and I, we would never let something like that happen." She smirks. "Besides, the Guild would have a lot more than just us to worry about if they tried anything."

Leah nods and tries to let the words sink in, hoping that they will convince her and calm the looming anxiety.

Trinity moves closer and pulls her into a hug. Leah buries her face into her shoulder. "You and your sisters' safety is our top priority. Whatever the world throws at us, we'll handle it together. Yeah?"

Leah nods and tightens her grip. "Yeah."

Maya passes a jar to her mother.

"Thank you." Sonya drops the herbs in. "Ague weed; what are the common uses?"

"It's used for protection, like hex breaking and stuff," Maya answers half-mindedly as she scrolls on her phone.

"And Fern?"

"Fern? Umm," Maya struggles to answer. "It's..." Her thumb begins moving.

"Uh-uh," Sonya shakes her head. "No cheating." The phone flies to her hand and she places it further away, face down.
