Mackenzie's pov
I ran out the car and now it was raining hard. I didn't run home or school. I ran to the secret place me and Matt used to hang out until I turned 15, I never stopped going here, it helps with my anxiety attacks. I ran onto the doc and sat down. This was where I had my "accidental" kiss from him . I remember it like it was a dream.
Flashback to when she was 8
"You can't catch me " I scream to Matt " Oh yes I can " he said. I ran behind the tree,he snuck behind me I had turned around to face him when he was about to kiss my cheek and instead his lips connected with mine. He pulled away I was blushing I could feel it." You're it " he whispered into my ear and started running and I went after him and forgot about the kiss the rest of the day

I then look out into the water. That's where me and him kissed purposely after the incident with Matt. That part was the nightmare with the incident, I thought I lost him that day.
Flashback to when they are 14
"Last one in is a rotten egg "Matt screamed running towards the dock. He had his bathing suit but I didn't. I didn't really care. We ran to the edge of the dock. He jumped in before I did. Then I jumped in. I came up for air. "You win Matt " I say as I came up. I didn't see him anywhere, I started freaking out.I dove under the water. I then saw him at the bottom of the lake. He looked limp. I grabbed him but couldn't get him up. Seaweed had tangled around his leg. That's why he couldn't come up.I pulled him free and swam to the surface. I had to pull him on the dock. I laid him down. I listened for a heart beat I didn't hear it. I then opened hos mouth and pinched his nose.I breathed air into him and did 4 compressions. I performed CPR for a good minute. That was when he started coughing up water. I sat him up and hugged him tightly. "I thought I lost you " I say crying. "It's okay, I am okay thanks to you, and I would never leave you I love you too much " he said hugging me back. We stood up and walked into the water that was waist high.I then realized that my shirt became transparent and you could see my black bra. The shirt was pink so it was very obvious. I then covered my chest with my arms. Matt noticed and said to me. "You don't need to hide from me " He says. He hugged me and I let my hands fall and hug him. He then leaned down and kissed me.I kissed back

I missed those times. When we were friends. The rain was worse now and I was soaking. I grabbed my bag and got my blade and depression pills out. I knew I didn't belong here.I wanted to leave the world with that happy memory of me and him, I cut long, deep cuts in my arms and my stomach. I then grab my pills and pour 5 into my hand. My normal dose is 2 pills . I was about to put them in my mouth when someone grabbed them out of my hands. It was Matt. My eyes went wide at he sight of him. His eyes were puffy and red, he saw what I was about to put in my mouth, He then looked at me and my arms and my stomach where the blood soaked My shirt, tears came out of his eyes.He squashed the pills under his foot. He moved towards me. I ran past him I didn't want to be here, I just wanted to leave. I was heading towards the edge of the docks. I heard Matt behind me. I haven't swam for about 3 years now so I forgot how to swim ,so I jumped in. When I did this I didn't struggle at all. I sank to the bottom of the lake now, as I take my last breath and my lungs fill with water I see Matt coming toward me. I then pass out and everything goes black.
Matt's pov
I ran after Mackenzie. I knew where she was going. I have seen her here many times before.It was this place by the docks. I still come here when I am sad. She carves things into the tree by the water. They are cute little things like drawings of when we were younger. We were so happy until we hit high school. She was 15 turning 16, that was the day everything about our friendship and our relationship went downhill. Yes we dated, I will talk about it later. I saw her sit down and start to cut herself they were deep. I saw , she then pulled out a bottle of pills. She poured a handful into her hands. I ran behind her and grabbed them from her. I looked at how many there were. There was like 5 pills. I looked at her sadly. I still loved her, I missed her so much. I throw them on the ground and squashed them. She then got up and started running towards the edge of the docks. I knew what she was going to do. Her sister said that Mackenzie had stopped swimming and forgot how to swim. She jumped in, she didn't come back up for air. I jumped in. I still practice my swimming so I am a good swimmer. I saw her at the bottom of the lake. She saw me, but then she closed her eyes and I saw her take her last breath. I then swim closer to her. I grabbed her torso and pulled her up to the surface. I pulled her onto the deck. She wasn't breathing. 'DYLAN, JUSTINE " I scream. They had followed me here. They came running down to the docks."Holy shit Matt .What happened ?" Dylan asked. Her sister we now by her side crying. "She tried killing herself by overdosing, I stopped her but then she ran and jumped in "I say pointing to the water. I looked at her lifeless body.I pushed Justine a little. I told her I knew CPR. She moved and I had started CPR. Her clothes were heavy so I had to take her shirts off.I began again. I pinched her nose and breathed into her. Then I did 5 compressions. Dylan called 911 and both of our families.

After 2 minutes of non-stop CPR She coughed up water. She looked at me wide eyed. I grabbed her in a hug. " I am so sorry I made you do this to yourself "I say now in tears. She hugged back but became conscious that she had nothing on but a bra. She had pulled away covering herself. She looked down there was her blood everywhere,even on me. Just then she collapsed. I caught her. She was so cold and pale from the loss of blood. "Please don't leave me Mackenzie I need you here."I say. She looks at me and says "I love you Matt ", I lean down to her and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around my neck kissing back.But they fell just as fast as they came.She wasn't kissing back anymore she went limp. I held her until the ambulance came. They said her heart rate was dropping. They rushed to the hospital . The doctors told us she is in a coma from all the blood loss and water in her lungs. This was my fault, if it weren't for me she would be awake and fine. They don't know when she'll wake up. It was going to be miserable without her
