chapter two ━ a fairytale daughter ( season one, episode two )
❝you're the daughter of princess elizabeth and prince edward!❞
the enchanted forest.
"𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 destroy everybody's happiness and you're sitting here doing nothing?"
Elizabeth turned away from the fireplace and felt the heat hit her back. "What would you have me do, Snow?" she asked her stepsister and crossed her arms. "I don't have any power that could defeat her. I'm just the stable boy's daughter; I can ride a horse. What, did you think I woke up one day and decided that I would allow her to do this? No. But I can't do anything to stop it."
"She'd take away your happiness, too," Snow White said and her stepsister rolled her neck in frustration. "Your future with Edward... your family..."
Elizabeth scoffed. "Don't lecture me about family," she replied, shaking her head. "All the rumors about me that went around... did you ever tell people they weren't true?"
"Charming, why are you here?" Edward interjected, standing against the front door of their cottage. He faced his half-brother. "You never tried to contact us before. What happened that you did now?"
Prince Charming sighed. "We got married yesterday," he told the couple who glanced at each other. "And your mother showed up, Elizabeth."
"I'm guessing unannounced?"
Snow White nodded. "She said she would take away our happiness if it was the last thing she did," she said to her stepsister. "And then Charming threw his sword at her. She vanished before anything happened."
"So, you tried to kill my mother?" Elizabeth asked, sitting down on a chair and letting out a breath. "What do you want from us? Just tell me that and leave us alone."
Snow White stepped forward. "We want your help to stop her," she pleaded.
Elizabeth looked up at her before sighing and opening the front door. "It was good to see you, Snow. Congratulations on your wedding."
"Lizzie—"
"Give me some time, Snow," she interrupted, shaking her head. "It was good to see you both." Snow White and Charming glanced at each other before nodding and walking out of the cabin. Elizabeth leaned against the door once she had closed it. "We have to help them, don't we?"
"You don't have to do anything," he told her, pulling her close and kissing her forehead. "She's your mother."
"But you're going to help them," she said as she looked up at him. His gaze softened, making her nod. I can't let everybody else lose their happy ever after because of her." She stood up straight and sighed. "We have to stop her."
