storybrooke, maine.
"𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 Storybrooke because Hannah asked you to and you're living in your car?"
Victoria tore her gaze away from her book when she heard Eliza's voice and found the woman standing beside her blue car. She peeked inside the vehicle, noticing the sleeping bag and pillow in the backseat.
"I'm sure Granny could give you a good deal at the Bed and Breakfast," she continued, adjusting her bag on her shoulder. "She loves the company. And if she dotes on you, it takes the pressure off Ruby. She'd love that."
"Well, I'm trying not to spend all of my life savings, which is already small, so this will do until I find a job," Victoria replied with a shrug, setting aside her book. "And I've been in worse situations, so..."
"Alright, then..." Eliza said, tilting her head. "But if you want somewhere with an actual bed, a bathroom, and heat, I have an extra room at my house. It's yours if you want it."
Victoria shook her head. "Oh, I—I couldn't," she stuttered. "But—uh—thank you for the offer. I can manage on my own."
"But that's the thing," Eliza countered, pressing her lips together. "You don't have to. If you want company or somebody to talk to, Emma seems to be in the same boat as you. At least that's what Henry tells me. You two have a lot more in common than I think you know." She smiled lightly. "Good luck."
"Thanks."
Eliza began walking in the direction of her house when she was suddenly stopped by Hannah who held onto her arm. "What are you doing out so late?" she asked her, looking down at the young girl. "Does Mom know that you're here?"
Hannah shook her head. "She trusts you, I'll be fine. I wanted to talk to you."
"Right now?" She nodded and Eliza sighed, digging for her keys in her bag. "Alright, fine. Just let me tell Mom before she thinks you ran away again. You and Henry need to stop doing that to her."
"Well, we wouldn't have to if she would just let us go outside every once in a while!"
"I don't think that should be your argument," Eliza countered, looking up from her phone and setting her keys down on the kitchen island. "Okay, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?"
Hannah sat down on one of the stools. "Okay, so you know that fairytale book that Miss Blanchard gave us?" she asked and Eliza nodded. "Well, there have been some new developments."
"New developments?" she repeated, crossing her arms with an unamused expression on her face. "What new developments?"
"We think we can finally put an end to the Evil Queen's curse!" Hannah exclaimed but received no reaction from her sister. "I thought you'd be more excited..."
