chapter 8: buried

Chanel sat and stared at the floor while Lxx unfolded her side of events, what happened after the rope game.

'How interesting,' she thought. Descersifering Lxx's story from her own, the two different versions.

The pizza men came, and everybody freaked out. Remi dropped the phone, making probably one of the worst decisions in his whole life. Our lives.

Becca, Kelly, Ella, Eli, and Christopher rolled the bodies, Emi, Kam, Kai, Lucas, and Jade.

Ace was at his knees trying to say sorry to Jade, bawling. Oli stood among the non-existing souls.

He watched Ace confess his love to a dead body, he watched Cozen having a panic attack, he watched Remi's loathing for Jesse begin, he watched Kai's before blood-shot red eyes blankly stare into oblivion, he watched his old friend Lucas be thrown on the other side of the couch. He watched me cry.

That's when we watched Oli leave.

He ran upstairs to grab a few items and snuck out the back door.

We could've framed him.

The pizza men didn't see the bodies thankfully, I stepped outside and paid wayyy too much, and sent them off on their way. Those pizzas might still be on the doorstep, I never took them inside.

We all sat, minus Oli and the... others who, you know.

You'd expect all of us to be screaming at one another for what happened, especially at Jesse. But no, we all just collectively agreed to burn the fingerprints off of the ropes and dump the bodies into the Pacific Ocean.

I think it was... Ella who came up with the idea? That same night, we did all of it.

Nobody spoke, we were all too traumatized. ALL of us burned the fingerprints off of the ropes. Then, we took my car and dumped the bodies into the ocean by 5 A.M.

I sold that car two days later.

The ropes were Jesse's to deal with. I don't think I ever asked what he did with them, not that I wanted to know.

After that, Jesse and Remi were the first to leave the mansion. They left separately but ended up being roommates for a few months until Jesse confessed to Remi, and it ended horrifically.

Becca just stopped coming around, and would come by every once in a while to pick up her "lipgloss" but would leave with more than two bags.

Antonio left without any goodbye to go with his boyfriend. Ace was supposed to move out with him but was left on a curb halfway to where Ant was staying.

Rin disappeared, without a trace.

The rest stuck it out, Kelly and Judas were still together, Christopher had no issue with us, Cozen was closer to Chanel, and Chanel was closer to Allie after Antonio left. Lxx was best friends with Cozen and caught feelings for Max.

We are all trauma bonded. The others, everyone who didn't stick around... if you can notice, we don't connect or relate in the same ways.

Lxx was finishing telling her side, the results were essentially the same. Chanel and she left out one huge detail, though.
