ONE NIGHT, A teenage boy who was wearing sweatpants, strolled around in the park leisurely. The cold breeze rustled through his dark hair. The park was empty. All of the families had already left. Only he had remained in the remote park — besides the occasional drunkard who tripped on the sidewalk.

He went over to sit on a swing at the playground. He stayed there for a few minutes — the wind breezed past, the litter on the ground tumbled, and his forest-green eyes took in his surroundings. He sighed and checked his phone as the light of his screen illuminated his face. It's already 11 PM. Maybe I should go home.

He sat up from the swing and put his hands inside his pockets before he decided to walk to a convenience store. He entered the store and heard the bell ring. Well, that's new. He went over to his favorite aisle, which was where the pet food was. His eyes took in all of the different kinds of brands. Not knowing which one was best, he decided to take some popular cat food brand that had a decent price.

He paid for the pet food and wished the store clerk a nice day, or rather a nice night further. The teenage boy walked the streets and stopped by an alleyway.

He crouched down and went on one knee, "Come here kitty kitty," he tutted softly with his tongue. A black stray cat with striking yellow eyes emerged with her kittens and went up to the young boy. "I brought you some food," he said as he patted their head. He opened the cat food he bought from the store and laid it out in front of the strays.

"So cute," he muttered to himself. "Well, that's the feeding for today guys. I'll return tomorrow." He smiled and scratched the chin of the momma cat and patted the kittens. He stood up, dusting his pants before he started heading home.

He walked the streets lost in thought as some cars passed by here and there. Suddenly a racing car flew past and messed up his hair. Are you serious?

He crossed the street and then...

Nothing.

Nothing but silence
