There was Monk who lived in the hills of a very remote area in the northwest India.
The Monk was young and often questioned the different rituals that had to be followed.
The one thing he earnestly followed was speaking to God and telling him about his mistakes before sleeping.
He had followed the same thing for over a decade now.

The Monk was now known for his forward thinking nature and people preferred to ask him about their life problems.

He continued with his good work but one day met a lady who had a young child , she had traveled from afar .
The most important thing he noticed was she was carrying a bag of gold coins .

The lady was well off with a lot of luxuries and had a few people but the child she was carrying was clearly not well. She wanted the monks from the temple to help her child out. He was to be dead in 10 days. As was told by an a vaidya. The doctor could hardly do any thing.

The Monk then saw what he could do. And told the lady that the price he asks will be very very costly. He said that the boy will be alright but once he is alright they will have to pay the price right away. Failing which the child's condition will be brought back to the present stage.

The lady was desperate to see her child playing again. The Monk then brought in some solution of herbs and made him drink it. On drinking it the child felt better.
The difference was clear, everyone were sure that the boy was better now. Now the Monk asked for the price. He asked the lady to make the boy his student. The lady started telling him his difficulties about how he was their only child, and had to study their family business instead.

The Monk reminded her of what he had said before they had treated him. The lady then wanted to know for how long would the child have to stay. The Monk said it depends upon his will.

So the lady decided to stay in the area , while the boy became a student at the monastery.

For more than 40 days the lady stayed and so did the child after which the child was sent back to live with the family again.

The lady then thanked the Monk and took her son back. After a while , the boy had to join the family business, which he did. But after some time it came to their notice that the boy was
using his teachings from the monastery
to find the answers to problems of the real world.

He had written several papers on the solutions. The parents then took him to a learned teacher who recognised his knowledge and took him to his school for a brief internship. After which he
started teaching there.
