"Yeah, I guess being a turtle is hard, huh."

"I never get any good dandelions in this pond, it sucks." The turtle looks frustrated.
"I could find you some dandelions if you would like?"
"I got some." A different voice says.
"AH!"
I fall into the pond out of fright.
"Hey watch it, this is my water!"
"Please don't bite me, I'm getting out."
"I won't bite you then." The girl says.
"I was talking to the turt-le."
I grab her hand instinctively, and get pulled out of the water.
I shiver a bit.
"You cold?"
"Y-eah, ju-ss-t the water is-s cold."
She runs off, I follow her.
"Oh, here. I didn't expect you to follow me."
She was just grabbing a towel from somewhere.
She wraps it around me and dries off my hair with it, but she does it to where my head shakes.
"Oooo."
"What?"
"Nothing, just your hair is so pretty. Like copper colored silk or something. Pretty~"
I blush a bit.
No one has ever called my hair pretty.
"But-but it looks like fire, fire's bad.?"
"Fire is pretty too" she smiles. "Keeps you warm in the winter, and cooks food whenever you want it to. You just have to be careful with it and, Wait a minute."
"Wha?"
"You can talk to turtles?"

"Only some animals, not all"

She takes my hand and smiles.

"Follow me."

We wander off into a field of flowers with a single cherry tree.

"Hai Hai~" She yells.

What is she- Suddenly little people jump onto her. Blue spirits with white stars on the tips of their hats poke her and.

"Ah"

"BurBur, don't eat him, he's not edible."

"What are these?"

"Cosmos, they're my friends."

---

"You're such a clutz."
"What does that mean?"
"It means you're a dummy who falls down all the time."
"Yeah, I do that a lot."
She takes a bowl of water with a cloth in it, and wrings the cloth out. Her hand holds it to my cheek, and it stings a little.
"Don't make that face, I don't like it."
"What face?"
"The one where you look like your hurting, stop it."
My eyes widen a bit, which I guess stopped my face from being all hurt looking.
She doesn't like to see me hurt?
I smile a bit.
"Are you blushing?~"
"Wha, No." She smiles this time.
"What happened."
"My dad came to visit me and grandpa. Dad doesn't like me very much, not after mom died."
"Next time your dad has a cough, give him a frog to suck on."
"Why?"
"Because, it's what doctors do to mean patients, or people who they don't like. The frog does nothing, it's  just embarrassing, and nasty, only sometimes does it actually work and if it's the wrong frog it can make his face go like thus and puff him all up."
I laugh a little bit.
"All clean, now lay down."
"Why?"
"Just lay down."
"You know, your bedside manner is horrible."
She pushes my head down onto her thigh.
"Uh-"
"Lay down. Shut up."
I stay quiet, and she starts playing with my hair.
"It's gotten long."
"You want me to-." She puts her hand over my mouth.
"Hush."
"No matter- Hey"

Hehe, I pretended to bite her hand.

"Go to sleep Soma.
