Bringing up the past

Hyunjin

God save me now; I really don't want to do this it's like cheating not only on your boyfriend but your best friend as well. Changbin really knows how to be an ass sometimes and better yet he's going to make sure I go through with it by being there.

Changbin is the only one who knows of my small history with Felix way back when, I guess this wasn't the first time Felix came to visit with Chan.

It was nearing the end our high school days and Chan had brough Felix over to visit his grandparents as Chan's parents kept nagging him to do so and he said Felix had to come with him. So, Chan had mentioned he had his cousin with him that he has mentioned a few times over group chat, and everyone was curious to meet him.

You'd think everyone would remember meeting Chan's cousin before but apparently not especially since he has grown over the years and definitely aged well. Back then he was a little scrawny and hadn't grown into himself yet. Nonetheless though he was cute as fuck and still had all his little freckles.

Minho was the only one to not meet him though.

I remember first meeting him now back then I thought he was cute, and I wanted to know him. Chan was however very protective of his cousin and had mentioned he had a girlfriend back home. Even at the age of 18 he still had a girlfriend before me. Sure, I was a hot commodity in high school, but I never kept a relationship.

The boys were quieting down, but still rowdy as ever. Most of them were clinging to their significant others, Chan was happily playing with Jeongin's hair as his boyfriend laid in his lap and kept talking about the most random shit.

My own boyfriend was sprawled on the floor looking up at the ceiling singing random songs whereas Changbin was making sure his boyfriend was comfortable as he was fast asleep.

Minho was kicking Jisung trying to get him to stop singing but then Felix just joined in on the signing and got Jisung to take a shot or two with him. Minho just looked over with the two already.

Nearing our time to meet up Changbin gave me the look and I just nodded my head and looked over at Felix who just look scared as fuck, but he simply nodded. No one had a clue what was going on and I hoped it stayed that way.

11:25

I got up and said I had to go the bathroom, and no one paid any mind, when I reached the stairs and made my way down the hallway to the balcony. Luckily it wasn't too cold out tonight, I could see fireworks going off int the distance as I assumed people were gearing up for midnight.

Changbin made sure his presence was known "I'll be waiting just around the corner, remember a dare is a dare." "You're lucky if you don't end up on my shit list." I growled. "Well just do as I said, and everything should be fine. Who knows he pry won't remember you." "And if he does? You know damn well how I felt back then." I know Jinnie, it was a drunken night though." "Sometimes people remember the tiniest parts, and thanks to you now I remember it all." "Seeing as Felix didn't recognize a single one of us should be relieving."

I just shook my head and glared at him, he backed up and went around the corner again. Knowing him he's going to get proof of this or some shit. God this seems like a fucking black mail type of situation.

I know it's mostly fun and games but the fact this has to be done away from the group makes it hard and I really don't want it getting out.

The last thing I want to do is hurt my best friend.

Or better yet lose Jisung.

Felix

I told Minho that I had to go grab something from upstairs, but he was too occupied trying to pry Jisung off of him. After those few shots we had Jisung got all clingy again and this time went for Minho, it was kind of cute though.

Everyone else was in their own little worlds and I went unnoticed which I was thankful for. It seemed like I was going to something bad in secret and I hated that feeling. But Hyunjin said it was important and I couldn't help feeling like I needed to meet him.

When I went upstairs and walked down the hallway searching for the door to the balcony as it was dark through the hallway. Finally finding it I opened the door and was met with the cold night air.

I could see fireworks going off in the distance and it looked like others were having fun getting ready for midnight, ringing in the new year.

At this point I feel like I won't get my new year's kiss.

I looked at my phone and the screen lit up reading 11:28.

"Looks like you made it."

I turned around with a jump now realizing it was Hyunjin's voice. "What was so important that you needed to meet me in secret?" I asked annoyed.

"You know I remember when you had blonde hair and had the sweetest innocent looking face." Hyunjin said.

Hyunjin showed this picture to me.

It was of my back in my high school years, how he had it though was beyond me.

There's obviously something going on here that I don't know about or can't remember.
