We reached a large copse of trees. Green jumped into one of them, reclining on a branch. I sat on a rock, my stomach audibly growled. Green took out three apples, tossed them, and sliced them perfectly to fall into our hands. "Thanks green!" we all shouted. He simply nodded and started eating.
We all finished and stretched our arms and legs in a run. We reached a dense part of the jungle, birds and ocelots ran all over the place. One darted through Ato's legs and he let out a high pitched squeak. "Don't worry, it gets better-" Green was cut off by high pitched screaming and laughing. As I was walking I jumped into a tree. "What are you doing?" Green asks, stopping."I-im just better in the tree's, y'know, more used to it..." I know that scream... that laugh... It was there again and they all saw a medium sized blonde and brunette. I stopped behind a small bush. "What's up with you?" Dean sounded annoyed. "N-nothing" I bolted straight up. The blonde stopped running as we walked closer. He was smiling until he saw me. "Hello!-" He looked at me, the expression of shock ever present. He quickly turned around and ran. "Sorry guys, be right back!" I turned and ran after him.
We reached a semi cleared area of the forest. "Why won't you leave me alone!?" He screamed at me. "Why? Why would I leave, you've done nothing wrong!" I walked a pace toward him, "No... you don't know what i've done Icara..." "Then what? What is so worthy of our friendship dying?" He looks downcast. Tears started forming in his eyes. "When you left... I didn't stand up for you... I didn't do anything to stop you..!" He looked so sad it broke my heart. "W-what do you mean..?" He looked at me for a moment. "When you got kicked and banned from the towns..." He bursted "I only did it to gain the trust and love from the wrong crowd... I shouldn't have left you to be kicked Icara!" I took a few paces forward and he finished the rest of the length between us. He was crying almost childishly into my cloak. "Don't you hate me?" He said it was almost hard to understand. I was slightly crying as well. "Why would I, Richard? You're my friend..." He looked at me, Gratitude? Sorrow? Shame? "Don't worry, we can be friends again." He smiled and hugged me. He wiped his tears away. He was noticeably taller than me now. "Let's go back, they must be waiting." We turned around and headed back. He was oddly quiet, this isn't like him... "Hey green!" We returned. "Everything alright?" Richard looked at me, pleading not to tell. "Yeah, just a little chit chat, that's all." I say nonchalantly. "Ok, lets keep moving" Green started walking immediately.
We were on a large plain with few trees and bushes. We saw a large ravine. I looked a little over the edge, "Careful" Green warned me. "I think we can make it.." He said, testing the edge. . "I'm gonna go with you Icara," I felt ridiculous. "Everyone else, I know you can cross easily." He looked at me, he nodded as if asking if I was ready. I nodded back. "Alrighty..." He grabbed my arm, "and.. jump!" We both jumped at once. I thought I was going to make it.. however we were about a few inches short, falling into the ravine. All I saw was darkness... then the impact.
I wake in a slightly lit part of the ravine. Green was over me. He sighs "Thank goodness, you're awake..." I blinked a couple of times. "How long-" I managed to choke out before my rib popped. I roll over, favoring my broken rib, seething in pain. "Don't move" He says, pulling out a large bandage. "A-ah!" I say like a 'watch it'. "Ok." He backs off. "Thanks" I sigh out, but it hurts like crazy. I get up, "So... what are we going to do?" He looks at me. "Let's find some shelter, and wait till morning." He gets up, and bends down to give me a piggy-back ride.
We reach a small outcrop in the ravine. "This looks good." I squeak. He puts me down, "Thanks", I sit on my butt with my head on my knees. He layed back on a wall. I look at him, he seems downcast. "you... ok?" He looks at me, hopeful? Desperate? He sighs, "no... I'm just- I'm remembering things... like my sister." He seems embarrassed to talk to me. "Would you mind sharing green?" I tilted my head. "You remind me of my sister... Dalia..." He shuddered at the name. "I feel like I get a second chance." He looks down. "What happened to her?" He frowns a bit, A face I haven't seen before. "She's dead... in the explosions I caused... the destiny books fortelling my idiocy..." I look at him "Oh.." I had no idea... No wonder he cared for me. "Well," he says, breaking my thoughts, "let's rest, goodnight Icara." He lays on his side. I lay a few feet away facing the opposite of him.
