BETRAYAL - SCREAM

Chapter 1

I hit the resume button on the remote as Wes sits down. Tonight we are watching Maze Runner.

"I may or may not have burnt the popcorn so this may be a warning." He says.

I laugh "of course you burnt the popcorn dumbass."

He laughs a little. I look over at him but he's already looking at me.

"But your my dumbass" I say with a smile. He smiles back.

I lift myself up just enough to kiss his cheek but as I do so I feel lips. I pull away and look at him.

"Thank you for the kiss darling." He says taking a wink at me, putting his arm around me.

"You sneaky little shit" I say laughing back.
I lean back on the couch and lay my head on his shoulder and he pulls me closer. The movie has started.

We are at the end of the movie and I'm sobbing quietly trying to make sure Wes doesn't look or hear me.

"Are you crying?" I look up at Wes who's already looking down at me.

"No" he looks at me with the be for real face.

"Yes" I say knowing that he could clearly see the tears.

He starts laughing at me.

"The poor kid just died it's not funny" he hugs me while laughing.

"WES! WHERE ARE YOU?" We get interpreted by Judy hicks, Wes's mother.

Wes lets go and looks at me confused and I give him the same look back.

He gets up and I follow.

"MOM WHAT? IM RIGHT HERE!" He yells trying to be louder so his mother can hear him.

She comes in his room running. She hugs him.

"Oh my god you're okay." Judy rushes over to Wes and pulls him into a hug. Wes looks over Judy's shoulders to look at me and I just shrug my shoulder.

She lets go and looks at me.

"Sophia we have to talk"

I look at her confused.

"What is it."

"Your sister, Tara, was attacked tonight. But don't worry she's okay now they are taking her to surgery right now." She puts her arm on my shoulder clearly trying to comfort me.

"What? What happened?" My voice is a little shaky.

Judy looks away so I follow her eyes to Wes who looks worried.

Judy shakes her head.

Does she not want to tell me? For fuck sake it's my sister.

"Mom who attacked Tara your scaring Soph." Wes puts his arm over me with a tight grip trying to comfort me for whatever Judy is about to tell us.

"We are not sure but Tara said it was a dude dressed in a ghost fake mask." She says worried.

I fall back a little. No body know other than me that Billy Loomis, the original ghost face, is my older sisters, Sam's dad. If someone is dressed up in a ghost mask trying to kill my sister, there is going to be a really big problem.

"Soph" I snap back to reality and out of my thoughts. I realize someone is holding me up. I look up to see Wes with a really worried expression on his face.

"Are you okay Soph" he says with worry in his eyes.

"Yea I just need to go see Tara and someone needs to call my mom and Sam" I say trying to balance on my feet.

"I'm sorry Sophia but no one other than your mother is allowed in the room right now." Judy says with sympathy

I just stare at her.

I can't see her? Shes my twin sister.

"She's my twin I'm going to go see her and we all know mom isn't going to leave her meeting in London."

"I'm sorry Sophia it's just law, you can't."

"I don't care Judy you have to understand she's my sister who knows what she's thinking right now she needs me."

Judy looks at Wes completely giving up. I turn to him.

"Wes?"

"Soph. It's law. We will go see her the moment they allow us I promise. Let's just go up to my room and you can call your mom and Sam." He grabs my hand.

There is no point in fighting this and Wes is right.

I take his hand and he leads me up in his room.

Once we get inside he walks over to his dresser and starts pulling out clothes.

"You need to relax. Tara is fine now. Nothing to worry about I'm sure there are many people watching over her."

He walks over to me and hands me the clothes.

"Take a quick shower. Think and relax. Okay?"

I just nod.

"If you need anything call for me"

I start to walk away but he grabs my wrist and pulls me to him.

"I love you Soph." He says as his eyes softens.

" I love you too." I say smiling and he returns the smile. He kisses my forehead and lets go. I walk into the bathroom and shower.

I try to calm down but no matter what Wes or Judy says is going to make me calm down.

I give up on calming down. I grab the towel and wrap it around my body. I stand in the mirror staring at myself. I hear the door open. I turn my head.

"Hey bug." He says walking over to me putting his arm around me. "You okay?"

"Yea I'm fine." I lie. He kisses my neck.

"It's okay if your not. I know this is hard to process."

I turn around to face him.

"I'm scared. What if Tara gets attacked again or you and Mindy get attacked. I can't handle losing y'all too."

"Your not going to lose us. I promise."

"Your making all these promises when you don't know for sure."

"I know" he hugs me.

"Put on some clothes and we will go to bed and try to sleep." I nod.

"Okay." He lets go of me but that was the last thing I wanted. He walks out and shuts the door. I turn back to the mirror and sigh.

I get dressed and walk out of the bathroom to see Wes laying down on his bed on his phone. I walk over to the bed and sit down.

"You sure your okay bug?" I nod.

"Come on." He moves over for me to lay down beside him. I move over and lay down and face him.

"I love you so much and I'm going to make sure you know that. I'm not going to let anything and I mean anything happen to you or Tara."

"Mindy?"

"Do I have to I mean that girl is pretty strong."

"Yes." He sighs. "Fine and Mindy." I smile at him. "Thank you."

He pulls me as close as he can and cuddles up to me as I slowly drift off to sleep.
