At Mighty Med, Juliana's P.O.V.

I was checking up on Tecton, who had managed to land himself in the hospital yet again. 

"What's it going to take for you to stop getting injured?" I asked, not looking up from his charts. 

"World peace, Juliana," Tecton answered with complete confidence. 

I glanced up at him and chuckled. "Yeah, well, until that happens, you should consider actually dodging attacks when they come at you." 

"Duley noted." 

"Juliana!" I turned to see Kaz coming up to me with a big smile. "Oh, uh, you're busy, I'll come back later." 

"No, it's fine," I quickly said to stop him from leaving. "I'm almost done here. What's up?" 

Kaz nervously looked at Tecton and awkwardly smiled. He cleared his throat before looking back at me. 

"Right," he said. "I, uh, I was just wondering if anyone had asked you to go to the school carnival yet?"

I shook my head. "No, not yet," I said with a sigh. I turned to check on the machines that were attached to Tecton. 

"Oh. Well, are you hoping someone specific will ask you?" 

I felt my face warm, and I glanced over to see Tecton giving me a knowing grin. I glared at him but didn't react because I knew Kaz was watching. 

"Yeah, I am," I said as I turned back to Kaz. "I was kind of hoping someone really close to me would ask me to go to the carnival as a date."

Kaz scratched the back of his neck and rocked back and forth on his heels. "Cool, cool, cool," he quickly said. "Well, that's all I needed, gotta go!" 

"Wha-?" Before I could even question what he said, Kaz was gone. I sighed and turned my attention back to Tecton. "You're good to go," I muttered before disinfecting my stuff. 

"That's the guy you like?" Tecton asked while looking in the direction Kaz had left. 

I gave him a 'shut up' look before I quickly looked around to make sure no one was listening. "Yes, okay?" I muttered in an annoyed tone. 

"Aha!" I flinched as Skylar jumped up out of nowhere! "I knew it!"

"Skylar!" I snapped. "What on Earth are you doing?" 

"Spying on my best friend," Skylar stated. "What are you doing?" 

"Working. Why are you trying to catch me in the act anyway, you've known that I like him for a while now." 

"Um, yeah, but I haven't verbally heard you confirm it before. I still can't believe you like Kaz out of all people."

"Shh!" I snapped. "Skylar, I would rather that this whole hospital doesn't know, thank you!" 

"Why are you hiding it?" Tecton asked. 

"Because I don't want him to find out. If he likes me, he'll ask me out, and if he doesn't well then he doesn't."

"What, he hasn't asked you out yet?" Skylar asked, appalled. "It's literally so obvious that he likes you!" 

"Who likes you?" Oliver asked as he joined the conversation. 

"No one!" I quickly said, but at the same time, both Tecton and Skylar said, "Kaz." 

"Kaz?!" Oliver exclaimed with a look of disgust. 

"Shh!!" I said as I slapped a hand over his mouth. "Everyone, stop saying his name so loudly!" I sighed and pulled away my hand from Oliver. "Come on, is it really that big of a shock?"
