"You have nowhere else to go!" The hero yelled over to the violent villain, who seemed to become weaker and weaker by the second. "Surrender... or face my blade," and the curly haired hero pressed his blade against the villain's smooth chin.
The villain whimpered upon seeing the darkened gaze in the hero's eyes, unusual to any other gaze he'd seen. "What'll it be?" Asked the heroine, and the villain once again whimpered before leaning forwards, leaving only inches between them...
"You read?" In a sudden Instant, I looked up to see a blonde man standing before him. He seemed rather cheerful, as well. "Ah.. yes." I groaned, annoyed that the good part of the story had been interrupted. "What's it called?" The man placed a hand gently on the book and leaned down to see which story it was.
"Ahh, that's the one I made! Man, I thought nobody would buy it." The man, whose name was plastered on the book, spoke. The words said 'Naruto Uzumaki' and I almost laughed. What an odd name. "It was given to me." I recalled, thinking back to how Karin gifted me it, almost as if to pick on my crush on the blonde standing before me.
"Ah, well... I do hope you enjoy it." He smiled, looking at me as if he wanted to say something else. "I might not be the best writer, but..." Naruto placed his thumb on my chin and slowly lifted. "Maybe someone as gloomy as you will enjoy such a story." He shrugged before walking away. "Huh?" I turned red in the face. And before I knew it, Karin tapped my shoulders as if to scare me. I jumped.
"I finally got you." She laughed. Her hair was as messy as usual. "Ahh.. it's because Naruto was there, wasn't it? I would never have gotten you otherwise!..." she sighed dramatically before sitting next to me. "Man, you really like him." She muttered.
I nervously sat, about to continue the story at such a climax, but decided against it. "I've heard some things about his book already. Considering how new it is, it's above average on the popularity scale. It'll probably be known worldwide soon."
"How do you know?" I asked Karin. I did hope for the best for Naruto, he seems to be trying pretty hard for a mere passion. A narrow passion. It's pretty difficult to get as many reads as he has been lately, right? His dream seems to be working well after all.
"Well... if I had to pinpoint it... it would be that his use of action is incredible. He also makes you feel for the characters... one of them reminds me quite a bit of you, actually. Gloomy, timid, but confident in himself when needed. Quite like you if you ask me. Makes up for an interesting villain."
I nodded and thought deeply. I guess so. "I've never thought of myself as confident nor timid, to be honest." Karin smiled at this. "Of course not. Just focus on your studies. You'll be a millionaire one day, I know it."
"And... who knows? Maybe you'll score that blonde in the end." She patted my shoulder before leaving."Maybe." I mumbled. Not that I saw it in the near future. But the want and need was there. I took a deep breath and closed the book after putting my bookmark there. "I'm going to be late to class..." I huffed and got up and left. Guess I won't be reading the rest today after all.
...
9:55 pm.
That's how late it is? Really? Already?...
I originally planned to sleep at 8, but I can't seem to sleep. My mind keeps wandering off to that story. No, it keeps wandering off to Naruto. The one who wrote that damn entertaining story. But no matter how much I tossed and turned, it felt as though there was weight on my head, and flashing to the sounds of swords clashing clouded up my mind and eyes. Naruto really is talented... his ability to write is amazing, as Karin said, incredible. I've never read anything like it...
But eventually, as I thought, my mind finally went to sleep and closed off. Finally, right? But I would only awaken in someone else's room... what are my surroundings? Have I been kidnapped?
Stranded in an underground room with no windows or doors, I jumped awake. "What the..." I looked up to see two people I don't believe I'd ever met... but people I've read about. But why is this room so damn dark? I feel gloomier than usual.
It's almost like I'm in the villains room from that heroines book... "When the Book Ends"...
